Besides, if it's South Yorkshire Police, said file probably just contains evidence that Cliff was at Hillsborough, and used to drive a taxi in Rotherham.

Funny that!  ... anyone can take a look at the 'guest list' at the Elm Guest house 'parties'! It's available on the Internet even though Cliff 'kitty' Richard and his friend 'Gladys' would prefer it not to be mentioned so he took out a super injunction! Hmm. Cliffs friends. ...Saville, Epstein (remember Prince Andrew?), Tony Blair, many many MPs, other senior royals. ... oh yes SIR Cliff Richard! SIR Jimmy Saville... it's not secret. The problem is the establishment . The police can only go so far before evidence is 'destroyed' or 'lost'... and don't get me started on the disappearance of key witnesses! |

When i was a lad (80's) I remember watching the 6 o'clock with my parents. There must have been a story about a paedophile or similar. I still remember my dad saying "They'll never do a thing about these people while so many of them are running the country!"... Good ole dad. |

Surely you don't mean the Kray twins?? Shock horror! , Cyril Smith, Leon Britain, Lord Mountbatten. ..... oh it's a long and interesting list! They have the evidence but the victims are waiting for more of the high profile paeds to die because they are scared.
I await the day that Cliff Richard dies..... and a few others. ..then let's see!

Yep it runs too deep and whilst it is all out there on the net for all to see...nothing will get done about it....as in "line of duty" were the boss cop was infuriated about the police involvement he said "better to just get a few DJs and has been celebrities" cliff will be sheltered as he knows all the top bosses who were involved. |

Personally I find it difficult to 'lighten up' about such terrible and very serious prolonged abuse of those poor innocent children. I do not possess the imagination to even contemplate the hell they went through and still going through. You choose to believe he is an innocent Christian charitable man? There are few even in the mainstream media that would support your belief. It would be a dream come true for him to locked away with the others...and throw away the key. |

glad to see the hang um high mob are claiming there is lots of "evidence" against him, if he is guilty then he should face the full penalty but until he is found guilty then he is in this country innocent, all I have seen so far is innuendo and the fact that he was/is friends with some who have done awful things that doesnt make him guilty of it. Perhaps the poster who mentioned leon Brittan might retract the claim he was a child molester/rapist the case was dropped as having no substance whatsoever .
I am not saying CR is totally innocent,I dont know and not one person on this site does either, unless of course they were molested by him, let the law take its course |

The case was dropped because they couldn't produce the evidence! Saville was also investigated a couple of times alongside others but the cases were dropped! Not because they were innocent. A lot of evidence was destroyed. I have researched this for years! I don't just go on what the Daily Mail feeds you! Do your research and inform yourself of the facts. The 'problem' is the establishment and the law. No I won't retract the claim. Leon Britain is widely known. It's not a secret. Just like Saville. They couldn't pin it on him despite allegations and suspicions and people who KNEW! Why? Because he was protected by the establishment. Like Britain and Cyril Smith and Ted Heath. But they died before the case was heard. I doubt Cliff Richard will ever be taken to court for the same reasons. The police know he is guilty but getting a case to present that will secure a successful prosecution? In my opinion.... sadly unlikely. But I hope I am wrong. |

It's a discussion which you don't have to participate in if you don't want to bit your 'ditty' stated we are online trolls for some of us daring to say we strongly believe he is guilty because of the evidence against him. He knows it. But getting it to court will be a battle for the prosecution. I just find joking about such a serious subject very difficult, regardless of your personal opinion. The OP asked for opinions on this subject so I am giving my strongly felt opinion. |

Yes that is true but there is evidence from other sources which goes back much earlier. Unfortunately much has been destroyed. The CPS know he is guilty but they need a strong evidence. It won't be easy. But he isn't the only high profile paedophile still at large. It was a huge ring! |

On the Tony Blair point, I agree! But.... it doesn't make them innocent. Like Saville. Who believed he was guilty? He fooled millions! Thats the power of the establishment. But he WAS guilty. Like Rolf Harris. It's terrible but sadly true. They were all hanging out together. Their names on the same guest lists of parties at private venues now known to be the infamous paedophile ring organised by Saville. I just feel very strongly about this. There is no doubt in my mind that CR is guilty and there are others I hope the police will eventueally find evidence to prosecute successfully.
I hope the case goes to court. We will see! |

I agree with you entirely I just mentioned tony Blair to show how high up the involvement is. I think I have read most the same as you on this, and it is not hard to find for some of the posters who are feeling sorry for "poor cliff". glad to see the hang um high mob are claiming there is lots of "evidence" against him, if he is guilty then he should face the full penalty but until he is found guilty then he is in this country innocent, all I have seen so far is innuendo and the fact that he was/is friends with some who have done awful things that doesnt make him guilty of it. Perhaps the poster who mentioned leon Brittan might retract the claim he was a child molester/rapist the case was dropped as having no substance whatsoever .

The CPS have to be able to PROVE he did things, it appears the police now believe he may have a case to answer its now the CPS's job to take an independent view of the evidence, if as some here believe the evidence is so easy to find then they will charge him and if it is then I hope he gets the right sentence, but it is dangerous to allow a witch hunt to decide guilt, whether for very noble reasons or not, the law and justice is one of the great things about this country, not trial by internet and rumour |

Of course the CPS know all about it!!! It's not difficult to find the basics out and start putting some of the connections together but they have to PROVE it! Yes! BUT whilst it is lovely that you truly believe in the integrity of our justice system ..if only it were true. The establishment have powers and cover ups that we might never know! Some things are starting to emerge bit it is a slow process... THINK how long Saville was able to run that large paedophile ring for! Think WHO was in it that we KNOW for sure! I pray for a justice system that has integrity but when you are protected by such powerful establishment then PROVING it becomes a cat and mouse game...

I am not commenting on CR's guilt or innocence.
You need evidence to convict. Despite gut feeling of guity, a jury swears to decide based on the evidence as presented in court, not as discussed on the intetnet or in the press.
If the CPS says there is enough evidence to initiate a successful prosecution, then we will see a case in court. If there is less than a 50% chance of securing a successful prosecution, then it will be dropped.
While there must be an allegation for a file to have been created and sent to the CPS, it is interesting that no one seems to know what the evidence is, but some have already successfully prosecuted CR in the forum.
I wonder how many of the jurists have expressed views about unfair trials abroad, yet clearly wish to deprive CR of a fair trial here. |

I am not naive enough to believe that those at the top dont try and get stuff covered up, but these days it is much harder and from the high profile cases where corruption has occurred I think the police and CPS have a large number of honest employees who are determined to see justice done for the victims, which I am sure everyone wants, but there is the right way to do it, dont forget the outcries when evidence is produced by the police etc when they "know" someone is guilty but cant find proof. these case need to be watertight, I think the CPS have a very hard job to ensure that the truth comes out one way or another, it must be very difficult to sort the true accounts from the cranks that make stuff up, I dont envy them their task especially when there is so much pressure from the public |

With all due respect, I rather think this case and those connected to it (I. E Saville) is an exceptional case. Why do you assume noone knows the evidence. Why would the CPS release that? Of course not. They are trying to put together a strong case. I am cynical about how successful they will be because as already said.... and widely known quite frankly....the establishment protect their own interests and will keep it out of court. Read about Tony Blair and his super injunction...... Prince Andrew gets off without even a court hearing? Would you or I be so lucky???? Seriously???? |

Oh..I am getting it. Thre wad a great BBC Panorama film on this.The Elm Tree evidence was presented by a guy who admitted perjury. There may be elements of truth in it but since the main protagonists/organisers at that place are dead, that the papers were all filled out on a set of successive sheets (ie it could be claimed that the document was created at the same time rather than as a long term register) and that at least two of the alleged visitors were visibly present at public events abroad when alleged to have been visiting this place in London only one conclusion can be drawn.
Personally, if there is any truth in the allegations in that document, I expect it to be an attempt to over egg the pudding by someone who may have a stake in seeing a prosecution of someone on the list

Yes that's true about the age but but she claimed that Epstein forced her to have sex with Andrew AND the state law still said she was underage so anyone would normally have to go to trial for a hearing in that US state????? Who knows if it's true but Epstein has a record for running sex slave rings. I think the bigger point I was making is about how certain members of the establishment are protected whilst the rest of us would have to face the music if accused...innocent or not! |

They couldn't pin it on him despite allegations and suspicions and people who KNEW! Why? Because he was protected by the establishment. Like Britain and Cyril Smith and Ted Heath. But they died before the case was heard. I doubt Cliff Richard will ever be taken to court for the same reasons. The police know he is guilty but getting a case to present that will secure a successful prosecution? In my opinion.... sadly unlikely. But I hope I am wrong. "

I take wih a huge handful of salt the claims of 'research' by amateur defectives. Unless you have personally interviewed the victims and suspects in these cases and sifted through the ACTUAL evidence at first hand all your research counts for is more rumours added to the ever increasing pile of rumours. |

What we DO know is..he was arrested in the 80s but the home office told the police to drop the charges ( many MPS and high profile peeps were going to the same parties Cliff went to, where young boys went..some of them are in jail now so you do the maths on the home office order?)... Cliff was arrested at the time for 'alleged' sexual offences against young boys.
The police did a raid on his home a few years back...why do you think they did that?

Innocent until proven guilty - and that does not mean guilty by Google.
I am surprised that the fact that a file has been submitted has been made public knowledge, to be honest.
No we don't know the precise content of the files but it certainly isn't for stealing lipstick!. What we DO know is..he was arrested in the 80s but the home office told the police to drop the charges ( many MPS and high profile peeps were going to the same parties Cliff went to, where young boys went..some of them are in jail now so you do the maths on the home office order?)... Cliff was arrested at the time for 'alleged' sexual offences against young boys.
The police did a raid on his home a few years back...why do you think they did that?
Now a large 'file' has been sent to the CPS....
Come on...they have been trying to get Cliff Richard for years! Look at who his close friends have been over the years.....and where a lot of them are now...

Much as I dislike the man, he is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. I really wish that people accused of crimes were granted anonymity until the result of the proceedings is known.
In Mr Richard's case, there are not even any proceedings yet. |

I thought we did. It relates soley to one unsubstantiated claim by a 15 year old boy at a Billy Graham concert. I can post a link to the story in the Grauniad if it helps.
None of the rest of the allegations on here, including the implication that he and Tony Blair shot Jill Dando and abducted Maddie McCann () are thought to be part of the file. Though the rumours that he faked the moon landings.....

South Yorkshire Police trying to deflect a little attention away from themselves? I would have thought the stunt with the BBC helicopter would make the CPS consider any prosecution has already been compromised.

No one is suggest he or tony Blair shot Jill dando! But it is fact that she met up with cliff the day before she was assassinated... She was investigating the elm house at the time... A man with mental health problems was falsely convicted of her murder then freed...it was a assassination of a woman that all does not add up and the murderer has never been caught! But I do not think tony Blair or cliff Richard personally pulled the trigger. |

But surely if Tony had been involved, we'd have been softened up beforehand with stories about Jill Dando potentially having WMDs, stealing oil from Kuwait (or at least heating oil from her next-door neighbour) and actively planning a strike against Britain (or maybe Shaw Taylor?)
