I have noticed lately on my local (update). 2 new profiles from people who have been on (FAB) before and now have came back onto the site. 1 has taken 7 years off her age from the last time see was on (FAB) and the other has taken 10 years off her age from the last time she was on (FAB) aswell. No way love do you look (30) more like (40+). Why do people do this? |

I wouldn't do it personally but end if the day it's upto them what they choose to do.
If they put 30 and they obviously look 40 + and not what your looking for then just move on by to the next profile you like.

I would rather get messages off people complimenting me for not looking my age than the other way around so I have no need to lie  |

To get round filters.
To try to appeal to a wider audience.
Because they're in denial.

Fab age is always 10 years lower than actual age (thought that was common knowledge?), there's a guy local to me that has two profiles, ones in his 30s the other in his 40s, chances are he's pushing 50.  |

Shurrup! I'm really 21 lol.. Seriously.. People:s preference seems to be rounded up.. Eg.. 40, 50 etc. Some may feel left out like me being just over a limit, so tell a fib. Some small.. Some with neon signs and fekin big bells hanging off it.. |

Was chatting to a (filthy) 85-yr old man and his (2nd) wife, aged 69. Both active. Ish.

I know a few who have for various reasons - I'd just prefer they fess up before I waste my time meeting them to find out they're older than expected
But in the same breath I also see someone on here who is listed as 28 to beat the 25 age filters - and I'm bloody glad he did or I'd never met him (and very delicious he is too!!)  |

No point lying, I'm 38 and look it. If I claimed to be younger, people would think I looked old for my age.
I have, on occasion, been tempted to pretend to be older than I am, to fit some people's age ranges, but never did. |

Maybe because they feel younger and don't want to be judged on their age, maybe they feel if a man see's they are 40+ they will think they won't be as fun and lively as somebody 10+ younger so they put an age that more reflect their personality in order to not be seem as frumpy and middle aged which they may feel will put people off

I would love to be younger but I don't want to lie about my age as a lie only leads to more lies and then a lie to cover a lie. I don't live my life on lies I live my life with honesty and that includes being on here. |

There are people on here that lie about their age, relationship status, have false verifications; lie about always having safe sex, lie about looking for a relationship...
There's someone near me that has at least 4 profiles...all verified.... all with different words and desires. There is a couple near me that is verified by the two people in that profile constantly (they verify themselves at least once a week.. )
Fab can be a minefield and picking your way through it boils down to the one thing you do have control over. Choice. If someone has lied about their age and pictures tell a contrary story. You can choose to meet them. Or walk away. There will always be liars; because some people enjoy the act of lying.

Yes they can...nobody ever believes my age, I look in my mid-30s! However I'm honest as I'd rather look fantastic for 46 than ok for 35 |

i saw a teenager who looked well old because of their hairstyle, body type and clothes they wear wearing, i think i might put my age as a lot younger next time round. |

I was recently told I look 9 years younger than I am (and it was after the event, not before, so they had nothing to gain by being smarmy!) which was a really nice ego boost.

I suppose the more interesting question is 'how sad do you have to be to notice and remember peoples ages on Fab and then post a forum thread about it when they rejoin using a different age?' |

i find it hard to believe any women in their 50s can pull off looking in theor 20s unless they have had cosmetic surgery and if thats the case its got nothing to do with looking after yourself or having good genes |

God yeah ... in my mind I'm still 25 so I feel pretty betrayed when my body lets me down in various age related ways (eyes, I mean you ..). Still no point in lying about it though and you just have to try and keep yourself as healthy as you can. |

I'm 53, fab age 43. When I was on another site with a visible face pic, I would be complimented that I looked 10-15 years younger. Although it's flattering and lovely to hear, I would end up having the same conversation over and over again. So to avoid this, I stated on my profile that I'm 43, and it hasn't been an issue. I always come clean immediately as I get chatting, as I'm proud of my age, and find that most men find it a turn on....oooh older woman...or really don't care x |

A guy came round yesterday to do some plumbing (nothing naughty!) He saw our engagement photo (which was 8 years ago) and asked if that was my daughter! He couldn't believe I was only 29 - I was mortified! I'd best go and get a bumper pack of anti-wrinkle cream...  |

So, here you go, confession time
When I first joined fab I set my age so that I was under the big five zero. After a while I realised what a nonsense that was and reset it to my correct age.
50 and much happier now. Bring On the fun  |
