It looks like it's about to get worse as the weather forecast for tomorrow shows more soaring temperatures and enough wind to fan the flames.

The pictures have been horrendous.

It is something else.

Drove through California in 2013 when that was ablaze - eerie orange half-light on the northern horizon, smoke and ash...

But this is an order of magnitude greater.
