What is it with these long profiles??

If you can't get your point across about what you want in a few paragraphs, is it really worth reading an essay??

Thoughts??

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Their profile their choices, your view of what a profile should be is your view others will have a different thought on the matter, I enjoy reading some profiles whether that be long or short, if I start reading and itdoesnt hold my interest .....next ,

Mine is pretty big, ... and the profiles fairly long as well, I have had a fair few messages saying they enjoyed the read , so in summing up..

Short can be good and so can long.. all about choice isn't it.

Mine is long enough to get my point across in a relatively jolly fashion.

However, judging my the number of peeps who actually read it, I am considering altering it to the following:

"Blonde, big boobs, little waist, long legs, foof, pulse - enjoy".

A longer profile does not mean a better one. Some are unnecessarily long with long lists of dos and don'ts and include every scenario that's happened to them during their swinging adventures.

But I'm always an advocate for freedom of choice so if it works for you then that's all that matters.

I don't read them if it's too long so it doesn't affect me really

Entirely up to the reader if they don't like long profiles but don't bother sending a message..

I also don't hold great merit by profiles anyway, I prefer to message and start a conversation.

I haven't updated our profile text in years and I can't remember what it says particularly. It will do and I'm not going to change it

Anything on a profile I don't like I move onto the next one. No big deal is it? Use it as a filter and concentrate on those that interest you.

It really is that simple!

I like long profiles because they tell me that the person has bothered. Just because it's a long profile, doesn't mean the person can't summarise what they want in fewer words, maybe their are more discerning?

The ability to put lots of words together does not necessarily make one more discerning than someone who chooses not to.

I disagree as I'm very discerning even with my lack of profile text!

Having had both styles on my profile I can safely say it makes no difference whatsoever to the volume of messages received or the quality of those messaging

Only difference is it doesn't annoy me anymore that people haven't read it.

The majority of 'why don't people read profile' rants are started by those who have the fab equivalent of War & Peace on theirs.

if cant hold attention for more than 3 minutes to read a profile, what hope is there for other staying power? ...i like to know what people are looking for, i like the daring ones that actually articulate that..and if thats a few paragraphs then its a refreshing change x

The opening gambit is an interesting phenomenon. Essentially,is one the vendor or the client? Personally ,if the soliloquy is verbose and lacking substance, one is reluctant to bite the unbaited hook. The associated imagery will ultimately, initiate the approach.

Lol mine is probably too long but as I put the most important things first people (not going to single anyone out) still can't be bothered to read the first few words and still message me anyway. For a lot of people you could have a profile of less than a dozen words and they still wouldn't read it. As others have said its my profile so up to me how short or long I have it as long as it's not offensive then it's no ones else's business but mine. The delete button is easy to hit ....
