Oh I dunno DG...isn`t some guilt fundamental to keeping our moral compass working ..I wouldn`t say languishing in it is at all healthy tho ..or catholic guilt is desirable..

I didn't say I didn't suffer it!

I agree about regrets too... but better to regret the things you did than the things you didn't do.

"Throwing crisp packets at people's heads."

Do you fold them into little triangles before you throw them?

No they are full! But maybe I'll try that. It sounds very neat and tidy as well as offensive.

I obsessively fold every packet I empty! Throwing a full packet of crisps at someone is just a waste of good crisps!

I didn't say I hadn't learnt from the things I've done. I just done feel guilty or regret them. They are done, I can't change that. It may not have been a wise decision at the time but hindsight is a wonderful thing. We all make decisions based on our emotional state and the information we have to hand at the time. I don't waste time feeling guilty or regretful - I just get on with life, accepting the experience for the life lesson that it has been.

The only thing I feel guilty about is not being there 24/7 for my kids.

If I miss a session of phys or if I eat something a bit naughty.

Oh and when I'm stroppy with my mother, who is wonderful but does sometimes say daft stuff and I forget she's not good at being snapped at....

Couldn`t agree more....Emotions such as guilt are natural cognitive and emotional experiences ....I`d be fucked without them ...

The caveat I would add ...is wether an emotion is appropriatte or inappropriatte..
