Is anyone else doing the tough mudder on the 21st in Nottingham? What training are you doing for it?

A friend of mine did a tough mudder event last year. He had done triathlons so was a pretty fit bloke but the day he did the tough mudder was freezing. He ended up in hospital with early onset hypothermia.

Myself and a few old army mates did it 2 years ago. It was a great. Totally shattered after we completed the course. We raised over £2000 for the NSPCC. We are doing the one in Cirencester later this year in aid of Dementia UK.

We run , we climb , we get wet and muddy....and then afterwards we get very very d*unk ( its the only way to ease the pain ) !

I'm ok with the cardio side of things. Need to do a bit more work on the strength and conditioning work. Got 2 weeks and some insanity DVDs to do!

I'm doing Nuclear a week on Sunday. 12k 90+ obstacles. I prefer these races over Tough Mudder.

Death Slide I will own you this year!!

Not a fan of TM's cost for what it is.

Did Tough Guy in January, got Total Warrior in June and Ram Run in October.

I did a TM here in the States a few years back. It is such a great cause. I plan on doing another one in October here in Missouri with the hubs.

The cost is part of the reason I prefer Nuclear races. Entry pays for everything, parking, spectators, jelly babies at the half way point, mug of tea when you finish, hot showers and heated changing areas. The atmosphere can not be beaten imo.

I'm another one where the cost doesn't make sense for me. Saying that i'm doing X-Runner Water Wipeout and possibly Men's Health Survival of the Fittest again.

I did a mud run last year and the training i did was full body twice a week and running 2-3 times per week, i reckon with that you'll be fine

I agree, I did it the first year it was in Britain, even then it was pricey, but it's nice to say I've done it! I enjoy the mud runner series and there seems to be a lot of local events round me at the moment too that aren't bank breakers

Well I completed this on Saturday in 3.5 hours. Was good fun but physically tough. I managed to break a finger half way round! Lol did anyone else do it?
