Hmmm a democrat with at least some lingering liberal sentiments in spite of her corporate-courting, who has the major advantage of being the first female president....

Or an utter whackjob who will create a world war within weeks.

To be president you need 270 electoral votes

The safe democrat states that have voted democrat every election for the last 20 years whoever was the candidate add up to 242

Florida has 29 votes and a large Hispanic population, whom Trump has denounced on many occasions, I'd say he's got his work cut out!

Even if Trump gets in; I think he will be neutered quite quickly; and be a lame duck president from the outset;

The US president actually has quite limited powers without a consensus ; Trump is a " Washington outsider" so won't actually have many freinds in the Senste or the House of Representatives from either side; and the government officials will actually also restrict him; i.e. Do a US version of " Yes Minister's" Sir Humphrey on him .

It will still be dodgy, but I think the US will " manage" him .

Only if it's a landslide "in" vote.

If it's marginal; he will be the next PM.

Don't forget; Boris is actually an In supporter; he is only backing Out, because he knows it enhances his chances of becoming Tory Leader ( whichever way the vote goes)

I think Americans consider our Conservative politicians to be somewhat socialist?

Bernie Sanders is about the closest they've got to a proper one.

You wait. If - and it's a big if - if Corbyn is still Labour leader at the next election, I wonder if Americans will view him with the same level of bemusement and fear that most regard Trump.

But the difference is that British isn't a particularly powerful country in the grand scheme of things. I doubt more than 50% of americans could name our current Prime minister. America is a key country in international politics, along with Russia, China and the OPEC countries. Fortunately, as others have mentioned, it's President isn't necessarily all that powerful so swings and roundabouts.

It's a strange feeling to breathe a sigh of relief to see the horrible Cruz gone, and then consider what he's left behind.

Whereas I agree that Trump will be stifled to some extent by the establishment, the ugly forces which have characterised by his terrifying campaign are not going away - either in America or elsewhere

a few things....

1) cleveland is so going to burn in july... (site of the Republican National Convention)

2) the electorial map is going to be interesting.... he is talking about creating a new map with a path the victory.... he is going to need one.... for example if he is going struggle in and lose Utah (which would be like the tories winning in glasgow)

3) it will be interesting to see how much backtracking trump will have to do... because i don't see women voting for him, or minority black and latino voters,

there is a super pac ad at the moment which is just women saying all the nasty things trump as said about them over time....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKmhK8G--7c

just play that ad for the next couple of months!!!!

trump won't win in places he should... i.e Utah, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia..... or places he would need to i.e Florida, Colorado, Arizona, North Carolina, Virginia

4) it will be interesting to see how many republicans DONT endorse trump, because being tied to him is going to affect their chances..... you can basically kiss goodbye to the republicans taking over the senate... and i think the house majority may be in trouble...

5) this move will alienate a whole bunch of republican voters.... way more than hillary will on democratic side....

i can see a whole lot of republicans, rather than holding their noses and voting for hillary just "staying home" which will affect house/senate races....

5) this one move galvanises the democratic party..... in the autumn, if hillary plays it right... she can basically have 2 clinton's, 2 obama's (michelle is a fantastic speaker) Biden, and Sanders and Warren all basically hitting Trump from all angles......

i think its interesting who the VP's are going to be on the ticket...

I think trump chooses Chris Christie, I don't he has much option....

Who hillary chooses is going to be more interesting.... it won't be sanders,

if this had been 2012 it so would have been gabby giffords... but with the attempted assasination it would be too much now

if its elizabeth warren, that would be the progressives jackpot!!! but they don't apparently like each other much

so working on down.... Deval Patrick, former gov of mass, or Cory Booker former mayor of newark would keep all the obama people on board big time!!!

if you are look at someone conventional... Tim kahne, former gov of virginia

if you want someone fresh and radical and out of progressive left field, Tulsi gabbard, sen from hawaii would do that!! and she has only just turned 35!!!

No, the concern is that Trump may be boxed in on the domestic sphere but has free rein in foreign policy.

Of course, he may turn out to be a bit like Reagan - a nut job on the campaign trail but reasonable in office.

He hasn't done it yet. He has to be formally nominated at the GOP convention in Cleveland in July. This could well be a watershed moment for the Republicans as they absolutely don't want Trump, but the backlash from the army of Trump supporters if he is not formally nominated could be very damaging (literally).

hillary is likely to win..... but hillary has a problem....

next states up on the dem side.... west virginia and kentucky are likely sanders wins.... then onto oregon, where sanders will crush clinton.....

which then lead into the final super tuesday... california, new jersey, montana, new mexico, north dakota and south dakota

sanders will win 4 of those, (the dakota's, montana, and new mexico) will run her close in new jersey.... and if he nabs california... wow..

she wants to pivot towards trump, but if she doesn't spend any tv money....she is going to have an issue...

Sanders wins are all narrow though, and in states that apportion delegates proportionally that's no good

Where Hilary wins in places like New York and Caifornia (she's well ahead in their polls there) she tends to win comfortably and they've got lots of delegates

Sanders will drag it out but the maths are worse for him than they were for Cruz

just a quick point of correction.... on the democratic side all states are dealt with on a proportional basis...

the reason for the lead is a) sanders got crushed in the south.... and b) the super delegates have basically all come down on the side of clinton

i think the once thing we have seen is that sanders always starts way behind, but in the states where he actively campaigns, he does really well..... the moment of the 4 big wins in a row (if he does it) coming into california especially if oregon is as i expect somewhere close to 70-30 sanders....

i can see for example where NoCal... (San Fran, Oakland ect) will be strong sanders.... and SoCal (LA, San Diego) will be strong Clinton areas.....

It's ironic that as things stand, the democrats will have a candidate that is more in the pocket of "Big greedy corporations" than republicans.

Honestly I couldn't have picked two worse candidates from the original line up. This is like a choice between Dianne Abbot or Jeremy Hunt

There's nothing to stop Bernie Sanders running as independent like Ross Perot did years ago he isn't affiliated to Democratic Party just now and is one of only 2 senators in US just now like this it's not inconceivable that he would throw his hat in or the threat of it would have Hilary scrambling to have him by her side

For sanders it was always about raising awareness in corruption in politics. Ie big money.

He'll "drag it" as long as he's got a platform.... But let's not forget Clinton dragged it out all the way to California against Obama with very little chance of winning.

I suspect Hillary will struggle more than people think, she's got terrible approval ratings, she's actually disliked massively by alot of democrats and absolutely hated by Republicans.

And unlike sanders trump will dig up plenty of shit on her... Her biggest problem politically is her hawkishness with war!, we've yet to hear the redacted 28 pages of the 911 commission but the governor who has seen them has been pretty honest about its implications and then there's the ongoing FBI email investigation...

Sanders knows he can't win but wants to influence Hilary's policies to include some of his priorities, and to be fair I think he has and will succeed in that regard

Barring Hilary self destructing though I can't see a path for trump to get the 270 votes to be president - I just don't see how he can turn any of the safe democratic states and I can't see how he can win Florida either

There is a lot of anti establishment feeling floating around in America. Clinton is the establishment, and Trump will capitalise on that.

Barring Hilary self destructing though I can't see a path for trump to get the 270 votes to be president - I just don't see how he can turn any of the safe democratic states and I can't see how he can win Florida either "

it "could" be done..... but basically the only way you could do it would be sacrifice the latino vote in florida, colorado, arizona , nevada, new nexico, ect ... for the white vote in the midwest.. pennsylvania, ohio, michigan, wisconsin, iowa and new hampshire...

but i think he has greater issues.... Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Missouri,... trump winning could even put the likes of Georgia and Utah in play..

"Sanders wins are all narrow though, and in states that apportion delegates proportionally that's no good

Where Hilary wins in places like New York and Caifornia (she's well ahead in their polls there) she tends to win comfortably and they've got lots of delegates

Sanders will drag it out but the maths are worse for him than they were for Cruz.

I certainly don't think she'll be in for a easy stroll

But look at her competition... even a turd sandwich can beat a giant douche .

She couldn't beat an unknown black guy with a Muslim middle name!.

She's only just scrapped through agaist a socialist?.

The woman is not as electable as we might think over here

You're ignoring the fact that the unknown black guy was handsome as fuck, had Tony Blair's ability to make you believe the future won't be like the past and was back by an awesome campaign team who never once let him be pictured with those dirty cigarettes in his mouth.

When you put Obama next to Clinton or Trump he looks like fucking Roosevelt had a baby with Tony Blair (i.e electable) "

.

That's easy to say now 8 years later??.

It's not like America has never had a handsome black politican before is it or charismatic ones!.

I could be wrong but I really don't think she'll stroll it

women are more likely to vote in an election then men.....

so this comes along....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2gdTrh95jU

if that is a republican "anti trump" ad played during the primaries.... imagine what the democrats will come up with....

this is why its going to be a bloodbath, because in presidental debates the rules have always been no noise in the background.... so when his answers aren't going to have a soundtrack of "whooping and hollering" behind it.... they are going to be looked at very differently...

let's face it the yanks love to have a loon in power. Reagan was near enough senile when he got in, bush was bonkers and Bush junior was rejected from the muppets for bwing too much of a dummy and he needed a lot of cheating to help him get in. So, wouldn't be a surprise if crackpot Mr Fart got in. have you seen the people at his rallies? The guys look like dyed in the wool bible bashing crazies or redneck inbreeds and the women (younger ones) look like gold diggers and older ones Ma baker types. If crazies like Putin, Kim jong un or Mugabe along with the bizarre weather don't persuade you that the world is about to end then having Trump for US president should. Only consolation is he wouldn't take office til 2017 so I can get this years holidays done.

Was just watching on Newsnight about it earlier. It showed a few different polls which Clinton was in the lead on such as foreign policy, security, etc, however there was one poll in which Trump beat Clinton, and that was the poll on the economy. Crucially the economy is the one thing most important to American voters in this election. I think this presidential election could turn out to be very close one way or the other.

Illuminati don't exist ffs.

The NWO definately do though. Or did. They were certainly a force to be reckoned with in WCW but ultimately ceased to have any power after Wrestlemania 18.

Even today in the skies the chemtrails and contrails were quite visible today and will be again tomorrow if you look up to the skies!

Wow all this for trump and Boris lol wait a minute, Donald trump is Donald J. Trump

His initials are therefore DJT

DJT is three letters

Three is the number sides on a triangle

Donald Trump is illuminati confirmed

Illuminati don't exist ffs.

The NWO definately do though. Or did. They were certainly a force to be reckoned with in WCW but ultimately ceased to have any power after Wrestlemania 18. "

But what if NWO is not kill??

She won't stroll it but there's no stopping half minded voters who will fall for the gender card.

women are more likely to vote in an election then men.....

so this comes along....

if that is a republican "anti trump" ad played during the primaries.... imagine what the democrats will come up with....

this is why its going to be a bloodbath, because in presidental debates the rules have always been no noise in the background.... so when his answers aren't going to have a soundtrack of "whooping and hollering" behind it.... they are going to be looked at very differently..."

Let's not forget that Obama had the support of highly influencial figures such as Puff Daddy who got people voting that usually don't turn out.

It remains to be seen if he'll throw his support behind such a corporate puppet as Clinton with his 'vote or die' campaign:

Newcastle and Gateshead

coming back to this.... you know i would, since i am an us election gonk...

it will be interesting to see how many policy turns trump with try to make from him running in the primaries...

for examples.... this morning on the us political talk shows, he says he is now for the minimum wage going up (he was against in the debates) and that taxes would go up on the rich (he said they wouldn't in the debates)

plus on the topic of which republicans haven't endorsed him so far... the list is big... but he doesn't really care about bringing the party together at the moment.... but we will see closer to convention time (p.s i still think cleveland will burn/riot)

his electoral map is going to be interesting... because if we say he loses in places where there are big minorities populations (black and hispanic)... so for example....florida, nevada, arizona, colorado,

he basically then has to sweep "big 10" country.... ohio, pennsylania, michigan, indiana, minnesota, wisconsin, iowa and nebraska

i just dont see it... nebraska, indiana, and possibly iowa... ohio at a push but not the rest

if it is a bloodbath like i believe it is going to be... there are going to be a lot of red state or up until the last couple of cycles, former red states going blue... and that is going to really hurt...

georgia shouldn't even be mentioned as a red state going blue

missouri shouldn't be mentioned as a red state going blue...

arizona is traditionally a red state... but with trumps anti hispanic talk... it's a toss up

virginia and north carolina with the right candidates should be red... but trump.... they will go blue

It looks like trump will win as he got over the 50% votes, so it will be a showdown between trump v hilary for the white house. I recon trump will win, he also got the most twitter followers.
