little house on the praire

We have a family friend who turns 103 today. She is mentally completly on the ball just gets a bit confused about days and weeks and her eyesight is poor but her general health is great although she doesnt go out. We also have a gentleman here who is 104 still goes around town with his son and is always emaculatedly dressed. Its only in the last year his son pushes him a wheelchair for distances.

How old is the oldest person you know.?

That smashing and a great age

May I ask why she doesn't go out? That's a shame?

My mum's elderly and has certain ailments like bad eyesight and leg

Etc etc but I try and take her out at least 3 times a week to try and keep her active not just physically but mentally.

Wouldn't be able to Meet anyone. Age range only goes up to 99. Perhaps she should sue for age discrimination??

My mum doesn't feel safe and is unsteady on her legs etc. But it doesn't stop me taking her out.

It's hard work but worth it

London and France

There was an old boy I knew who lived in the same retirement home as my uncle; he was 102.

The local TV station interviewed him; the reporter asked him what he attributed his long life to;

He said " well I gave up smoking"

" when was that?"

" last year"

My dear old Dad will be 90 this month. Still lives in his own home, walks with a stick, poorly heart, failing eye sight and hearing, insists on doing everything for himself, even mows the grass (having a sit every 5 mins to rest), still has a sharp mind and a wonderful sense of humour. Always laughing and joking, and always ready to listen and give advice. I love my dad to bits and I can only hope that I have his strength of character when I get to his age. I'm just glad he finally accepted that he needed a red button panic alarm. Bless his heart, my dear Daddy
