Just gives the USA the legal right to asset strip every decent European company.
No wonder O'Barmy says he would prioritise this ahead of a trade deal with an exited (not excited lol!) UK. And very clearly why he wants us to stay in as our (few remaining?) companies could be ripped apart too!
Someone show me the dour quickly! |

If you think a UK government lead by people like Bojo and Gove wouldn't sign such a deal then you are dreaming. The only difference being, the terms will be even worse.
We should all campaign against the unbridled capitalism that TTIP represents but the EU vote isn't the time to do it. |

Allegations by Greenpeace. The EU Minister flatly denied the allegations are true meanwhile the hip view of being scared of TTIP continues without anyone really knowing why it will be so, so bad.
Trade deals are two way streets and so all sides have to benefit for it to work otherwise there is no point in striking the deal. |

Boris Johnson wrote a long piece praising this deal, so assume that he'll push for our own version if we leave.
It will be one of the worst things to happen to this country. And all negotiated in secret, so citizens know nothing!
Corporations will be the new states, with total power. |

No Greenpeace just released some pages that had been secretly passed to them.
So it's an allegation based on the pages that have been whistleblown!.
The EU minister didn't flatly deny them perse, they said the EU is not looking to water down it's policy of making companies prove stuff safe instead of the US system thats more risk management without the need for proof.
However the secretly released pages kinda make the minister look like she's taking shit |

At least we can vote them out - unlike the EU Commissioners who control the European political agenda |

Bo Jo is not the Prime Minister and even if he was, it would have to get past an elected parliament. Unlike the EU, where the Commissioners, who determine the political agenda, cannot be voted out of office |

Is anyone here somewhat in favour of this deal?
I'm so glad that hundreds of thousands have been protesting on the streets in Europe. Our neighbours sensitivity and unwillingness to be silent victims does warm my heart here. Their media is also more open about this than ours. |

All EU member states have to ratify the deal for it to go ahead, including Britain.
It's far more likely that one of our less corporation friendly European friends will block it than Bojo, Cameron, Government or Osborne.
A positive reason to vote to stay then?

So just to be clear, it's no longer just the tories who are in the pockets of greedy multinational corporations, it's actually the whole EU?
Now given that the EU is richer than America and has France as it's second most influencial country - could one of you conspiracy theorists please enlighten me why the EU is determined to take its citizens back to the feudal age?
For anyone that was born yesterday, France is ultra left wing, hates American corporations and doesn't give two shits what American politicans want it to do. Germany isn't all that pro American either since the 2 countries compete for the position of the worlds top exporter. |

Mr EU Jean Claude Juncker has a long and well documented history of helping and facilitating tax evasion/avoidance for large multi national companies in his home country of Luxembourg when he was Prime Minister there. Look it up on Google it's very easy to find this stuff out about him. So yes I would say Juncker is in the pockets of the multinational companies and corporations. |

No offence but you clearly don't work in a large corporation. Do you know how chaotic most of them actually are inside, most CEOs spend 90% of their time fretting over next quarters results, they don't have the inclination for some grand plan so take over Europe in 5 years time. Most of them don't give a shit what happens to the company after they leave because they aren't owners. The people that are owners are the ones that can't see past the next 3 months. |

So what exactly is new here?
1) American companies can already bid for government services.
2) American companies already get compensation when the government brakes the law (see Raytheon vrs Home Office on eborders)

OK then I'll answer my own question. What's new is that governments would have to pay compensation if companies had invested in markets that became nationalised.
Socialists hate it because they want to nationalise everything and whilst they still could, they'd have to pay compensation.
Frankly I can't think of single thing I want nationalised that isn't already in government hands so anything that stops the state getting bigger and wasting more of our money is something I see as a good thing. |

Seriously you're using Greece as an example of a hard done by country? It's elected politicians lied their way into the EU, spent money they didn't have and almost took the whole EU down with them when it came time to pay it. Nobody made them make those choices and they got themselves in that position with their democratically elected dick heads.

The Greek people democratically elected an anti austerity party, Syriza, and then the leader Tsipras put it to the people to either go with or reject the austerity proposals from the EU. The people rejected Austerity, that was the clear democratic will of the people of Greece. Basically the Syriza government were bullied and pummeled into submission by the EU in Brussels. It should be a clear warning to all about how the EU operates. |

All I heard was "the Greek people were bullied into paying their debts" - cry me a river.
You know Ireland would have been a much better example for the arguement you want to make. Ireland was a fiscally responsible country of hard working people that got brought down by banks. Greece brought down its banks with bullshit like it's 13 month salaries, ridiculous state pensions and widespread tax avoidance. It created a corrupt system that aimed to distribute money it didn't have to select groups as quickly as possible, that same system largely pissed away their bailout money too, hence people got fed up of giving them money. |

the greeks also had a state pension age of 52.... and one of the highest tax avoidance rates on the planet, and not enough funds in the bank to pay them..... or for any of their state workers....
it was the greek banks that started this........
the Eurozone... didn't have to bail them out.... the Greeks went to the eurozone and the IMF.... not the other way round!
and since the UK is not part of the Eurozone.... thanks for playing...
ok..... and just to cut the next load of BS that i assume is coming.... Yes, The UK was the largest contributor to the Irish bailout.... and Yes, the UK got all their money back from that bailout plus interest after 3 years..... |

I went to Greece in 2010, everything of significance opened at 9:30 and shut promptly at 3:30. I've never seen such a bunch of lazy fuck wits getting paid very good government salaries whilst pretending to work and I've been to a lot of former communist countries.
Obviously not every Greek is like that and I feel sorry for the responsible ones. But that government was rotten to the core. |

"So just to be clear, it's no longer just the tories who are in the pockets of greedy multinational corporations, it's actually the whole EU?
So seriously, a politician from a country that most people didn't know existed until England got put in a euro qualifying group with them is going to bring us all into American servitude?
France has the best healthcare system in the world. Don't take my word for it, ask the WHO. We're saying that France is going to piss that away because Jean-Claude Juncker says so?
The EU elite in Brussels like to Lord it over nation states in the EU and boss them about. Meddle and interfere may aswel be their middle names. They have a good track record of doing it already, just look at how they treat Greece imposing sado-austerity on them against their will. Jean Claude Juncker clearly has ideas above his station, when faced with criticism over the EU/Turkey deal on migrants from Amnesty international, and the UN saying the EU could breaking international Law, Juncker waved it away and said the EU was working within the guidelines of the Geneva convention. Juncker thinks the EU is above the law, so i would'nt put anything past him, and i certainly would'nt trust him on anything.
Seriously you're using Greece as an example of a hard done by country? It's elected politicians lied their way into the EU, spent money they didn't have and almost took the whole EU down with them when it came time to pay it. Most of the country dodges tax and I've seen their work ethic first hand, or lack thereof. Nobody made them make those choices and they got themselves in that position with their democratically elected dick heads.
The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

So seeing as you pointed it out, we've had a Greek bailout and an Irish bailout. How long you reckon before the Spanish bailout, or the Italian bailout, or the Portugese bailout? Or even Greek bailout number 2? Its not looking good in those countries, or what about Cyprus when the EU threatened to forcibly take money directly from people's bank accounts there? It is complete madness to want to be in any kind of political union with these people. |

Yeah but I'd rather they left the EU than we did! |

"Glad that the French are standing up against TTIP. I hope it never gets off the ground."
You understand that the basic principle of TTIP is the same as the EU - it's about common standards. |
