Question is size a result of media conditioning of which most of us get trapped in.

Whether guys being hardwired to being turned on by thinner bimbo thin faced female roles in movies, and magazines and models.Equally this can be said of male roles to.

Is it not feesable that through porn women equally have a biased missconception of of what guy has between his legs and performance exspectations. Thus gets conditioned in mind that equates that bigger and faster is better.

For guys ( like me) who are not blessed, watch the opening scene to film Bridesmaids , in a humerous way encapusulates this angle... ( clever)

No it's not as a result of media.

For the most part, it's as a result too much cake.

From the point of view of physique, look at ancient art and it's clear we have always known what a great body looks like.

Some have them, most don't.

I think the worst example of setting unrealistic expectations is the women's beauty industry where if women are not utterly flawless then they are just not trying hard enough.

The stigma to being anything but "Perfect" and "normal" is propagated by newspapers, magazines,tv and films everyday. My ex wife was overweight but gained her confidence through swinging and making genuine friends.

I think if you let the media dictate how you should look and how you think others should look then I would think it's you who has a problem.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Its interesting that women and men have differing ideas of what they think each other wants. research has shown that, when asked, women prefer toned men, not overly muscly, whereas men think women prefer huge muscles. When asked, men prefer women who are curvy, but women think men prefer women who are stick thin.

If the media affects our ideas of what we look like, its our fault for making them think we know what we want each other to look like. In the meantime, until we can make up our minds, I'll stick with what I look like.

Everyone is different. Everyone has different preferences.

Using statistics/ research to back up any kind of 'they all prefer this' ..........

Nice. So your cool and confident but anyone who isn't is just a lemming.

I'm big enough, ugly enough and old enough to not give a toss what most people think.

My OH on the other hand, for reasons to many and varied to go into here, feels the weight of pressure to conform with expectations on a daily basis.

It does not make her a dumb animal blundering toward oblivion.

Out of curiosity, what's your opinion? Are you insinuating that bigger cocks are implied to be better simply because the public has been conditioned to believe so by the media - and if so WHY, when the same could have been done for smaller penises (just make people believe that large penises are clumsy and painful and thusly inferior to smaller ones), or is the sexual glamour behind having a big penis derived from nature - ie, most people naturally favour a bigger cock?

I'll admit I prefer to look at pics of big cocks as opposed to little ones, but that's aesthetic appeal. It doesn't mean I want to fuck them.

I'm yet to talk to a bloke that finds pencil thin women attractive. The fashion industry doesn't connect to the average man's thinking in my opinion. It's all about curves for me, and a great smile. Speaking to mates they all say the same.

If this is a question about cock size, there was no need to throw body shaming into the mix really. Surely it's personal choice and it's fine. I would agree that some people are very influenced by unrealistic media expectations, but fortunately others actually think about realities.

To be honest I don't look much at pictures of cocks at all - or ask for cock pics as a prelude to a meet! A man is a whole package for me - the cock being a small (but admittedly fairly vital) part of the whole!!

I'd imagine guys see it in the same way - looking at body, face, bits (if its important) and personality and then judging as a whole whether we're interested!

I don't think society or the media tells us what body type we're attracted to - our brain does!

What on earth makes you think I'm confident? I have no pics!

Ok I apologise, bad choice of term.

It's up to the individual what they feel and how they react to anything external. It's all superficial bollocks. If people subscribe to that it's their problem. No-one forces them to.

Central

The media has a huge influence upon what we regard as socially acceptable and ideal and it now reaches global levels of influence very quickly. In earlier generations some trends passed between European countries, the USA etc, but more slowly and to a limited extent.

It helps to reduce or to stop your comparison with others, as this is the driver for much insecurity.

Don't confuse healthily thin with model thin, models to me do not look healthy or attractive.

Size 6 catwalk models then no thanks, interesting conversation though. I've spent a fair bit of time in South America and women there hit the gym to get curves rather than get thin. The weight rooms are full of women squatting etc, which is totally different to the gyms I've been to in the UK. You could argue it's the same media influence over there but just in a different way, more my personal like though, can't beat a good pair of hips
