Senior service for us as we both served.
We all know the navy will battle and put up a good game for the first half then the army and it's ringers from Fiji will take control.
In terms of size and manpower to choose from its the equivalent of England taking on Samoa. Yes there might be the odd shock result now and again but it shouldn't really happen.
Anyway the navy always win the drinking |

Well it's wasn't a victory but we take the spoils on the field and in the bars
A good match all round and let's hope all the serving and ex serving spectators make it home safe even if a few will forget what happened today thru drinking too much |

It's a tri service competition where the navy army and the air force all play each other. As the navy is the senior service and the army were playing rugby before the air force was even created then the trophy is always between the navy and the army. |

What a brilliant day. Quite emotional with over 81K belting out the National Anthem. Was a great game, just two muppets ran on the pitch clothed and the Army won convincingly 29 - 20. And more beer was shifted than all the matches held at Twickers this year put together. |

I'm presuming you haven't attended this match before as you put two Muppets ran on the pitch. In the days of old before the match went commercial you'd be lucky to have 50k in there. People streaking and running on in fancy dress were a regular part of the game and even something to look forward to. They were thrown back in the crowd to carry on their day and the match would resume. It's was guys from both the army and Navy that did it and the military police would normally throw them back in the opposite? side of the stadium where they came from so they would be given loads of abuse and a nip from hip flasks as they skulked back to their own seat in naked embarrassment. Nowadays it's become more about making money for the charities than anything else. Don't get me wrong it's a fantastic thing for the charities to receive the money but keep the fun in the day too. |

I have been every year when I could so you presume wrong, both serving and when I stepped off.
In the days of old before the match went commercial you'd be lucky to have 50k in there.
In the old days the capacity was _educed as the new south stand had not been built.
I fail to see what you mean by commercial......if you mean televised thats surely a good thing?

They werent something to laugh at but I dont think it is entirely appropriate especially as children attend and especially when a player may be seriously inju_ed.

Nowadays a streaker is likely to go on a nonces register for exposing himself in public.

The fun is running into mates and having a beer or twenty while watching rugby. I dont think a few pissed up squaddies or matelots naked running on the pitch adds to the occasion.
Its a big thumbs up for the charities that benefit
But that's just my opinion and you are entitled to your own. " |

Except the winners podium - Pongos got there first x"
But they din't did they??? The navy were the first winners. Royal Navy = Senior service.
The navy always leads the way with the army following and marching to our beat. |

Not this year they didnt, and given the scoring it was the navy who were tail end all match.
So pick up the step navy thats 120 paces per minute

Ex Army so Army. Was a good game and a close one. Ronald McDonald stole the show!! The whole weekend is brilliant from what I can remember. I do remember Saturday night in the pub, all ex Army and Ex Navy drinking and swapping war stories together and having a right good laugh. Combined Services...all rely on each other and form the best Armed Forces in the world...at drinking anyway |
