I'm having a real moral dilemma at the moment involving reporting my next door neighbours to the RSPCA
They got a puppy for the kids at christmas and the novelty of it seems to have worn off already
for the past week it has been living in a cat transport box on the back yard, you know the plastic carry boxes you take your cat to the vets in? its in it 24/7 just outside the back door amoungst the bloody bin bags and everythijng else they throw out
I went out to it the other night as it was crying and it was pissing it down with rain, the bottom of the box was full of water and the was poo floating about in it and the poor things stood in it crying in the rain, so i took him out and cleaned the box and put him under the garden table in the box for a bit of protection from the rain, next night hes back outside the back door
I feel so sorry for the poor thing and i really want to report them but they are quite a gobby family and i have kids and if i do report them, i'll be honest, im scared of the come back me and my children will get from the family
I know the RSPCA will not tell them who reported them but they will know its me and you need to be able to see into their garden to know the dogs there and theres only two houses that can, mine and the other ones empty
So what do i do, carry on going out to the dog myself to stop any trouble for my family or report them and suffer the consequences |

I know it may be easy for me to say but i'd report them regardless of who they are , if they worry you , you could also call the Police and sound your concerns , its really not right they should be able to leave the wee dog like that , if they don't want it they could give it to the RSPCA to rehome , rotten bastards |

Don't report them. Wait till they're out, nick the puppy and take it to the RSPCA yourself. Tell them you found it in the box and have no clue as to where it came from. That way the pup gets a new home, you get to keep the peace with the neighbours and jobs a good 'un. |

Report them please, and help the little pup. If I lived nearer, I'd come round and rescue it myself. I really have no time for people that treat an animal so badly - it makes you wonder how they treat their kids. |

To be honest, that's what I'd do too - I'd consider taking the pup but leaving the box and if asked, I'd suggest that it escaped. |

actually i did think of doing that
must be great minds lol
I have actually just got back from the council neighbourhood office and told them the situation, she said shes going to do a garden inspection on them later and find the dog, that way it will look like the councils reported the situation not me
Will have to wait and see the outcome |

Report the bastards there should be concequences for there actions. People who misstreat animals should be treated as the same as sex offenders and put on a register. |

Ah bless ya...see wouldn't the world be horrid if folk like you didn't give a shit.
I hope it all works out ok and that the little fella finds a home that deserves him. And as for the folk next door, I hope they all get their just desserts. What goes around comes around. |

Do what you need to do,don`t like peeps that mistreat animals, the council approach,is a good option i think,if they are in council property, then they will report to the relevant authorities. |

Report them as you said the novelty as gone off I just hate people like that. They think a pet is no work they are so wrong. It's way too cold to be left out. Poor little love.
Me I'd have kidnapped it. But I know that's not the ideal situation. Call the RSPCA or Blue Cross.
I'm much more an animal person than a people person |

Hope it works out fer you OP....I understand yer concerns of comebacks..Its to easy to lightly dismiss them ....seems the council ruse will deal with the dogs plight and importantly yer families peace of mind ....try and let us know the outcome ....and bless you |

I have to say that i reported my neighbour for the abuse by her kids towards the cats they had but though someone went to see her, nothing ever happened other than i got threatened. The owners had to have the house fumigated when she left. When she moved out, we all cheered as she was a pain in the rear and left a cat behind, he ate 3/4 tin of cat food as i know she wasnt feeding them properly, unfortunately she came back the following day and collected him i dread to think whats happened to him and all the others.
Your alternative is to call the local council and speak to the dog warden, he should visit her and make recommendations, thats what we do at work when we get reports of neglect etc |
