Mine is drivers who block off roundabouts as they don't look ahead! So you can't get across the way you need to as they block the access. |

People who fly out of junctions in front of you causing you to take evasive action. They then bimble along twenty under the limit.
Why fly out the junction if you are not interested in making progress |

Where do I start!!!
I'll be ranting all day so I'm not gonna list them all as I want to enjoy my bath.
If I had to pick one it would be those who drive way under the speed limit.. I accept variations for weather conditions. And sometimes I do like to drive slower.. but at the same time I also use my mirrors and pull over and let traffic pass. It boils down to consideration. |

I could have a field day on thus thread as I'm a very judgemental driver.
Annoys me are people who although are not on the mini roundabout and are a fair distance away from it insist on honking the horn like they have the right of way when I was there first.
Motorway drivers who hog any lane be it middle or inside lane.
People who deliberately go in the wrong lane and cut in front of everyone because they cannot wait.
Harley drivers who rev their engine to make you move when in traffic.
Nissan micra drivers, golf drivers, audi drivers,BMW drivers, Mercedes drivers and Chelsea tractor drivers.
People who insist on parking their car in a bay and giving no room for anyone else.
People whose music/exhaust is so loud I can't hear my own music.
I think that's all that I can think of. |

Just googled. It means stop at stop line. You can go on only if Amber appears after crossed the stop line or so close to pull up will cause an accident.

Filtering on bikes isn't illegal and sometimes a Rev of the engine is needed to make some drivers aware that they are there. And give Harley's a break. It's the only time they can overtake things is while filtering |

On the amber thing iirc the only legal (as in prosecuteable) thing is you must have cleared the juncrion bh the time the lights turn read.
So you can enter on green but ifbyoundont get out the other side (long vehicle, traffic etc) by the time it turns red you've officisly ran a red light and can be prosecuted.
Its mainly an issue for hgvs though which may enter jist as the lights change but thentrailer not next before they go red |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
Why are bikers who filter pricks
It's not ilegal to filter and the only guideline is to filter at no more than 10mph faster than the vehicle you are passing. and yes I said guideline as its not a law, but in my opinion a very good point |

Would you define filtering as going between two vehicles? I.e over taking one while simultaneously UNDER taking another? Surely the under taking part would make it illegal. Just a thought |

Nope, there's legal exemptions for bikes (and protections ifyou move into thier parh you risk dansgerous driving charges)
But traffic must be very slow/stationarity
Cantnfilter at 60+ and be legal.
Also undertaking is legal if younqrw moving at the speed of traffic in your lane.
Ie ourside lsne stopped but middle lane crawling forward, younarent all guioty of udnertaking. |

Interesting point but no. I would call undertaking overtaking on the inside during normal driving conditions. I usually just filter while traffic is stood |

It's filtering if it's in congested and slow moving traffic. In this instance it's acceptable and wouldn't count as undertaking as indie lanes often pass on the inside of outer lanes in this situation.
The thing I always think is, every bike that's filtering is one more car NOT adding to the queue you are in so good luck to them. |

Hoany lanes?
If a 3 lane motorway.
No, noones in the wrong but the inner (between lane 1 and 2) rider is taking more risk than he should.
As cars may move out of the way of the outer rider into his and also 1-2 risks more trucks at least 2-3 you know only cars on one side |

I'm not sure to be honest. I'd like to say them depending on context. It's worse when it's on a roundabout.
Surely you're not allowed to under/over take on a roundabout?Doesn't make sense! |

foglamps when its raining.
People who don't know how to use slip roads, either on entry or exit.
cyclists that run up the inside of trucks and sit in the blind spot.
Truckers that don't back off slightly if you're overtaking with not a great difference in speed.

Motorcycle riders who over take on the inside.
Bus drivers that just pull out from bus stops without checking if there's anything overtaking.

People who hog the middle lane/don't move to the left when not overtaking. we wouldn't need extra lanes on motorways if people used the ones we have properly.
Went over to Belgium recently, lane discipline was brilliant, it was a pleasure to drive on the motorways there. |

Can't remember if I was on a motorway or queuing to enter a roundabout.
Took me by surprise a bit to be honest. Like you say, if I can I'll give a rider as much room as possible and if the first on the outside catches my attention and I move over slightly and into the second guy on the inside.

Our big annoyance is the lack of police!
We often drive from Suffolk to Dorset (200 miles) and don't see a single patrol car. What we do see is a huge number of speed cameras, lots of people who are driving like idiots, drivers on their phones, drivers who drive over red traffic lights and generally poor and inconsiderate driving.
Almost all the other people's annoyances on here would not exist if we had good old fashioned bobbies in patrol cars.

If it's in the hours of operation of the bus lane then it's illegal ,
Exceptions are ( if the signs allow it) taxis, which in many ( most? ) places can use bus lanes fully , and also ( not everywhere) motorcycles. |

Forgot people who cross in front of buses unloading and emerge into my path(they don't seem to realise that because they can't hear a motor vehicle that this doesn't mean there may be other vehicles on the road)!
And drivers emerging from their parked cars without looking at what may be coming up behind them.
Oh. And motorist at roundabouts/junctions who pull out in front of you, not realising that not all cyclists pedal at ten miles an hour. Had to slam my brakes on hard a few times when a car pulls out in front of me when I'm already on the roundabout. |

Not as annoying as pissed up car drivers who think they are Lewis Hamilton, at least the cyclists kill themselves and not a few people at a time when they speed. |

Driver that tell you off when they have fucked up
Drivers that start getting over taken realise it's a truck and then speed up
People who decide they want to come off at the next junction but will leave till the last minute to get over cause there is traffic in that lane normally blocking the lane they are in
People that think my truck will just stop my truck weighs about 44 ton not 2 like most cars |

I drive between 30to 35 k miles a year in the UK. I'm also driven many miles in Europe and the USA each year , I get to see allsorts.
Lane hogging, refusing to move across
Pulling out randomly
Cutting in
Weaving on motorways.
Approaching islands in the wrong lane
Refusing to let me pull off my own drive despite it only taking about 30 seconds
Incompetent drivers who shouldn't be on the road
I was in a petrol Station in Troon, Scotland, when and old gentleman pulled up to refuel. He seemed to be having an issue operating the pump so I helped him. It was obvious he had some level of dementia. He went into the petrol station and then couldn't use his card. He walked out and tried to get in my car. That guy shouldn't be driving. I was unsure what to do as I didn't want to feel responsible for him loosing mobility but I also couldn't let him kill someone by driving the wrong way for example, so I rang the local police and explained what was happening and his registration number. I don't know what happend after that but I hope someone was gentle with him. |

There are some, but not that many - trust me; I know.
However, they should be MARKED police vehicles as when they are seen they are a great deterrent to bad driving. Unmarked ones have their purpose though. |

Idiots who decide that, at roadworks where a dual carriageway is narrowed to one lane, that THEY are the arbiter of when this should happen, by driving straddling both lanes!!!!!
I take great delight in sneaking past them, and getting ahead of them, as I know it winds them up.
For the record, for any "straddlers" reading this, the highway code says we should drive in both lanes, and filter into one lane at the end, seamlessly, or like my driving instructor explained, like a well-oiled zip, you nuggets !!!! |

People who don't unders the word 'zip'.
What I mean is when two lanes come down to one in a queue of traffic.
I mean the arseholes who pull out and block people using the outside lane!
Read the Highway Code.....when queuing USE BOTH LANES, then filter in alternately.
This is to keep the queue shorter so as not to clog up the previous junction!
Mostly bloody lorry drivers who really should know the rules and should know better! |

Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
Outside lanes used and hogged, often for miles, where driver isn't overtaking.
Drivers who take all the space at a junction, instead of positioning left, right etc, thus impeding traffic flow.
People who don't look ahead, eg getting to a junction and then taking a first look.
Dimwits who get up to my rear but not to shag me - merely trying to force me out of a lane.
Not indicating. Pulling out blindly, causing others to take aversive action.
Not making good progress, according to road conditions, speed of the road, visibility and weather etc. |

The standard of driving in general is appalling."
A lot of people who.passed over 20 years ago wouldn't pass the theory test now. |

drivers who drive below the speed limit, road is 60, they do 30 until they get near the roundabout then 50 then have to slow down again.
drivers who are the wrong lane, just so they can get past some traffic

not to forget road is wide enough for two lanes upto road about, hog the middle, so traffic going right cannot get past all the cars going left or across without going onto the other side of the road. its so annoying.
also the driver who is going right but wont drive up the lane as they wish to stay in the middle queueing and wasting peoples time behind. |

"People who think its ok to go through traffic lights on amber.
People who stop on amber. Red means stop. Amber doesn't. "
Oh dear....
AMBER means ‘Stop’ at the stop line. You may go on only if the AMBER appears after you have crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to pull up might cause an accident |

People who can judge the width of their cars our roads are narrower down here doesn't mean you have to stop when you see another car
They might be lanes to the tourists but to us there the main road |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
The complete inability to use roundabouts, you all know the ones. Wrong lane for the direction they are going! And don't forget the ones that believe that they should be re-named as "through-bouts"
The middle lane drivers / M25 perhaps I really should say lane 2 and 3 drivers. |

All drivers and road users are assholes at any given time. Driverless vehicles cannot come soon enough. |

A lot of things listed above which is rather alarming as I thought I was a clam and careful driver.
I don't like tail gaters. Very aggressive driving.
On that note, we'll park this thread carefully in the drive, and go to bed. |

"People who hog the middle lane/don't move to the left when not overtaking. we wouldn't need extra lanes on motorways if people used the ones we have properly.
Went over to Belgium recently, lane discipline was brilliant, it was a pleasure to drive on the motorways there. "
When I drove through Belgium a few years back (in a classic Mini) I found cars just sat in the overtaking lane. It was scary in the inside lane catching up with lorries and slowing right down as there appeared to be no chance to overtake as the overtaking lane was solid. Then I learned the Belgium motorway etiquette - if you signal you want to overtake they don't flash you out but they always let you out even if they have to slow a little to do so. It was all two lane motorways I was on. And if they think it's time for you to go back into the inside lane they signal right to remind you. And there seemed to be no angry blasting of horns |
