clacton on sea

have just been approached by a researcher posing as a member of the site. looking for candidates for a program on "swinging caravanner's".

have reported this to admin, but I was informed by the person had already got several people on the site interested in taking part in the program.

I see this as a dreadful breech of our policy of discretion and respect within the lifestyle. I hope that admin has banned and banished this person but not before insisting on finding the names of the people who have shown an interest and taken action with them too most annoyed to hear that people would break the code of discretion that this lifestyle demands

The land of grey peas and bacon

I don't think this lifestyle demands discretion it's an individual thing and maybe people wanted to take part in the programme

Did they say straight away that they were a researcher? If so I don't think they've been indiscreet since nobody is going to agree to take part unless they want to.

You were approached. You declined. The problem is?

Also I think the ones to be wary of are those who don't declare their real purpose for being on here. Several times I've suspected someone of being a reporter or involved in research just by the nature, quantity and manner of their questions on the forum.

Soooooo they were open and upfront about the reason they approached you??? Not sure what the problem is really.

My Own Little World

Don't see what the problem is myself.

They told you that they are looking for people to take part in a programme, not like they sprang a camera crew on you when you had your trousers round your ankles.

And why can't other members take part if they wish??

Also, is there a policy of discretion and respect?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Where else is a researcher going to get people interested in swinging? Obviously its preferable that they approach the admin first to get permission, but maybe they did.

Hmm, I wonder. Channel 4 or 5?

"You were approached. You declined. The problem is?"

my problem is that others here were approached and agreed to partake, and no I was not made aware of the person's reason for initial contact.

we all know how the media loves to sensationalise issue's that offend the morals of others, and she had the cheek even after being told I had no interest in being party to it to ask if I would pass on names of people whom were caravanner's or campers who were also swingers

I can't believe that. Its outrageous. People are prepared to go on television and admit publicly to owning a caravan

I tend to agree, though we would have no interest in such a programme.

I'm guessing that those who agreed to take part are doing so of their own free will. I agree with you about media portrayal of issues like swinging and would never take part myself but if other people want to put themselves in the position of being misrepresented and edited to comply with a "documentary" makers agenda I say good luck to them.

I think it's distasteful of her to ask you for names but you maintained discretion which is good.

Report, block and ignore. It is no big deal. Morals, cheek, blah, blah,

When did the lifestyle demand discretion? I am sure there are many on here who openly admit to being swingers and don't care who knows.

Personally, close friends and family know. I have no interest on going on TV to discuss it.

ok we have profiles of people whom organise house parties or run clubs ect ect but at least their profile is upfront and honest about it in their headline.

Had this person contacted Admin prior to adding her profile and explained her intention I would like to think Admin would have told her that she couldn't do it. but then that's just my own opinion

I think if more people were upfront with their lifestyle choices then it takes away the stigma attached to it. Why be ashamed of what feels natural to us x and I know people have to be careful with careers and stuff x

I'd be more embarrassed to admit to being a caravanner than a swinger!!

I'm not sure what the issue is it's an individual choice to take part or not and those who chose to are certainly not being indiscrete to anyone other than themselves
