Yes. I'm looking forward to the head injury one next. Hopefully it's insightful. A lot of head injury patients get terrible support once they leave hospital.

After watching the programme for the first 10 mins, I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty pissed off with the amount of foreign alcoholics this countries NHS is having to care for

Perhaps they're the only ones who gave permission for their footage to be shown.

Our health services can be awesome until the point of hospital discharge. Advances have been made in intensive care, allowing a greater proportion of injured people to survive. But services that would have had limited need in the past are now incredibly needed. All of our mental health services are under funded and sometimes almost non-existent. It will be interesting to see that show, if it's on next week.

Some of the cases were so sad, the feeling of helplessness...

I'm familiar with the location pieces and the familiarity of it being so close and yet the majority of people not knowing also brings it home. I'm lucky in that this addiction isn't something that's affected my family or close fiends and thoughts are with those that are.

Read an article about him last week.

Originally it was going to be about ISIS sympathizers in UK but it was proving extremely difficult to get them to trust him and talk to him so he changed subject.

.

Well seen as the most wanted criminal in Europe was hiding on an estate in Belgium for months despite a great deal of the Muslim residents knowing exactly who he was!!.

I love this man He has a way about him . I cant help think after looking at that ....... NHS should do more to find out why they drink and help, Not just get them off drink. Most will feel bad again and start to drink again .

There was an amazing study done on rats that I'm probably going to describe wrongly but I'll try.

They gave one group of rats an addictive drug they could have whenever they wanted and they basically took it until they died.

The second group also had free access to the drug, but were in a nice open cage with other rats for company and fun stuff to play on and climb.

The second group didn't touch the drug.

So it's about trying to build communities, friendships and a sense of purpose and that's what works.

I also suspect there's a strong mental health aspect for a lot of people with addictions. Mental health is such a low priority in this country, most aren't diagnosed and even with a diagnosis there is little to no support. So it's no wonder people fall off the rails.

Undiagnosed mental illness or undealt with family trauma can start this Its easy to get drink and help them block it out . NHS need to put more into mental health I feel.

My girlfriend at the time used to work in the Liver Outpatient's Ward at King's.

I've never liked yellow as a colour since.

I couldn't do that job.

It makes me appreciate the differences between people that there are people that can do it and enjoy it.

Why not use distraction instead of forgetting. It's hard to dwell on bad things when you are engrossed in a good computer game... no calories in computer games either

I struggled with the program. My mum died from cirrhosis/alcoholic liver disease. I wish I were able to reach out and help mum but children/parents of alcoholics are so ill informed of this disease as we have no idea of the magnitude... How far the disease has gone.

My heart is still very broken 4 years on, wishing I had more knowledge, tried harder and understood more.

Sorry, highly emotional subject for me

I couldn't believe what a jackass that girls boyfriend was. I wondered if he was an actor because it's hard to believe men like that actually exist. Who goes on national TV and says "I usually go for slim girls with big tits but now I'm stuck with her"

I think he's a slim ball really. He doesn't care how bad his documentary is making its participants look. I dare so a number of careers / lives / reputations have been ruined by appearing in his documentaries.

You're welcome to a different opinion. I suppose his documentaries wouldn't be very good documentaries if he didn't entice people to say or do shocking things in them.
