Therapy/councelling. You can't fix anything until you address why you're so obsessed with your weight.
And you're going to need family or friends help. Someone who can keep an eye on you and encourage you to eat at least a few little bits |

Aka, NOT someone who's going to try and force you to eat a whole pizza, etc as it will be counter productive and put you back on the obsessive scale |

Go see your GP to sort out your anxiety. Sertraline springs to mind. Then like somebody else said get some therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is very good. People seem adverse to it but it can help. If you really need help get help it is out there. Good luck OP. |

It might sound daft, but you have already taken the biggest step you will take on the road to recovery, admitting you have a problem, and admitting it to yourself.
I don't think anyone in here unless they are qualified are going to be much help, you need to form a suport team, made up of professionals, and close family and friends, but essentially it's you who is going to have to do the work needed to recover, but you will need that support
Good luck, I'm rooting for ya |

You have my utmost respect op for being brave and wanting to turn this around. My relationship with food is often not that healthy.
As has been mentioned, therapy may be the best starting point to help you gain more insight and retrieve your power from it.
Exercise isn't usually great for weight loss but may help as part of your plan - perhaps with a partner for increased adherence and motivation. The evidence for weight loss from exercise isn't all that good though.
What I'd encourage you to explore and develop is your confidence, self-esteem and inner relationship as much as possible too.
Wishing you the best! |

It might help if I read whole threads more frequently. ignore what's out of line from what I've written - I'm sorry. |

daft suggestion perhaps but have you tried colouring in??
i found it a massive distraction from real life.. helped clear my mind a smidge. its so exhausting when you fixate on an issue and stress about it. |

The hardest part is being honest with yourself and asking for help.
Ask for help.
And if you find eating hard- maybe try with liquid nutrition in the form of nourishing soups for example x |

I do that .. I so hate eating .I pick nettles in the park to make soup ..this is the first time I've admitted a problem |

don't think I'm ready to have someone challenge me about it as I go massively defensive ..but it's been a huge help talking to you guys and I thank you all for the input |

Yep, further reading, I still suggest counselling.
I had a similar hatred for food and eating and it actually had nothing to do with weight.
I hated food because I hated myself and denied myself the nutrition as punishment (a leftover condition from an abusive ex who would pick fights with me around meal times because he knew I couldn't eat when I was upset).
It can be a long road to recovery and one thing that I didn't consider was that my body would start rejecting food when I tried to learn how to eat again, so had to have GP involvement there as well for medication that stopped me vomiting. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think so, especially given their previous post |

It must have taken a lot for you to write this thread.
I remember watching Ella Crouch on TV - she is on Twitter. She is very inspirational, might be no help, but I thought she was a great ambassador for sufferers.
I hope you find a way forward. |

"Why do I think there is an air of piss taking with this thread...."
Oh I hope not, as I have commented seriously. I thought maybe the other thread was to defer from the real issue. |

I personally don't think so....I think that it's piss taking thread given their previous threads. However that's just my opinion. |

Your opinion is valid and you are entitled to it ...I've been in this mess for 15 years now and happy to jog along with it ...unfortunately I am a kick in the arse of everything shutting down ..so I have been made to address it |
