I was lucky enough to have spent the first ten years of my life living abroad in various countries and got to travel to quite a few places inbetween but I'm not sure I could pick a favourite.
Maybe, the white sandy beaches in Thailand before it got all touristy. |

"Ive been to Sunderland and Durham
Which is your favourite? I've never been north of Leeds! (well, except Glasgow for a couple days) "
The beaches in Sunderland are lovely and Durham is a tiny but quaint historical place. |

Sat out on the jetty in Rosia Bay in Gibraltar.
Our feet in the water with the sun on our backs, the sound of the waves clopping under the jetty and looking up at the rock.
Utter bliss. |

I love the Côte d'Azur. I always have a great time there, France is probably my favourite country.
I also love being in my partner's place in Glasgow, cosied up and watching a film together. Perfect |

A white sandy beach in Sutherland (North West Scotland) picknicking & skinny dipping - also been to the Whitsundays in Australia and apart from the heat, Scotland was better - but it could have been the company.... |

That is on our to visit list.
It's hard to choose, as we like different places for different reasons.
Abroad - Barcelona - Mr drove there and back. A beautiful city, loved it.
An island off the coast of Australia - because it was stunning.
Kefalonia - beautiful, lovely people and interesting history. We went before Captain Corelli's Mandolin made it more famous.
Here - South Devon, as it is so pretty and relaxing.
New Forest - Have always liked it there. Dorset is a lovely county.

"Where are the best places you've been and why? Can be an exotic island or just down the road "
Fiji was cool - beautiful scenery and if you ask for the time, the response you get is "Fiji time"
Banff - well it's home and there's 3 pretty cool ski resorts there
Prague - they have a toy museum with one of the biggest collections of Barbie dolls in the world
Mayrhofen - snow bombing for 5 days. It's basically Glastonbury on a ski resort

Essaouira is the one place I keep returning too and I'm always happy there.
Closer to home, one of the trails I regularly run I often stop just to enjoy the view. |

Four places that when on a train are great :-
1) Crossing the Forth Bridge
2) Coming out of the tunnel into Knaresborough at dusk
3) Lune Gorge
4) Going through Birkenhead Docks and looking across the Mersey to Liverpool.

Without a doubt, 2 weeks on Veligandu Island in the Maldives one year and 3 weeks the following year. It took about 20 minutes to slowly walk around the island and when leaving in a sea plane, watching the island get smaller and smaller brought a few tears to my eyes. Most holiday destinations we leave with memories in our head. This one, the memories are in the heart.

Midlothian |
In the Kop watching Liverpool
In a crowd watching Rammstein
In bed in a tent when it's raining, with Susie.
In the delivery room when my kids were born.
On our living room floor cuddling our dog.
All beautiful for different reasons. The precious beautiful present (Dan)

I was on top of a French Alp a couple of weeks ago. The sky was blue, the snow was great. It was joyous. |

Have you seen all those 'views through ears' pics??? I love them, some are fabulous! !
I send them to fab friends sometimes but strangely not all of them appreciate them |

I've been around a bit over the years.
Across the pond I loved Las Vegas and Grand Canyon, but not really keen on LA. New York (city) has a great atmosphere and New York (state) is pretty spectacular, if only for Niagara Falls.
Going East I'd have to say Singapore and the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.
In Europe I've always had a soft spot for Barcelona and, whether you are religious or not, Rome is awesome.
However there is one place that above all I look forward to returning to every year, and this being a swinger site I can't believe no-one has mentioned it yet.
Cap d'Agde. |

There's a certain Barranco, about 2500mts above sea level.
No noise at all except the wind through the pines, wild goats, the shout of a Herder and the occasional "clink" of gear.
Saying nothing more than that.... |

Good question, so many and so varied.
Tenby, happy holidays as a child
Rotness Island of the coast of WA. To play with a lovely animal called a Quokka
Granite Island off South Aust with fairy penguins walking over my feet.
Edinburgh. Beautiful city. And at Fringe it's fantastic.
The turtle hatchery near Koggala in Sri Lanka, and the Elephant orphanage at Pinawalla
Napier, New Zealand Art Deco town.
Hong Kong the old Airport at Kai Tak
Elliot Ness's bar in Cleveland Ohio
The Cotswolds.
Lake District
Niagra Falls
And The Middle East. Quite eye opening in Saudi.

Jasper and Banff national parks of Canada. I could write an essay as to why but let's just say 'it's a magical place'. Bonus points if you get the reference |
