I know what mentalisation theory is:
Not familiar with what mentalisation therapy entails, but it is presumably a method of helping the personality disorder sufferer to mentalise their feelings and reactions to other people (and to connect to other people's reactions and feelings) |

"In brief a form of psychotherapy aimed at treating borderline personality disorders. How it exactly differs from DBT, I don't know. "
It is as different from DBT as chalk from cheese. DBT is a behavioural therapy, where MBT is firmly is the psychodynamic, attachment-based fold. Although it had initial success within the Borderline field, it is just now being trialled for use in ASPD, Family therapy and Eating Disorders. The initial results from trials suggest that it will sit alongside other disciplines in these areas too,.
I suggest you read up on the Anna Freud website OP, which is a mine of information on MBT. Happy to answer any questions privately too, as this is exactly my field of work.

Why are there people who persist to fuck a post up?
A thread obviously they know nothing about so they resort to being childish on it.
I said the same on a post last night, it says a lot about the people doing it |

this is very true huni some people with the condition are fine on meds some dont need them as episodes are few and far between and mainly triggered by stress and some people have counseling to deal with it it depends how bad there condition is and how bad thessymptoms manifest |

There is a theory that says that BPD can be as a result of the brain not being able to regulate emotions properly. |
