i made contact with friend on here, then when she fond out i was attached, she goot all huffy, when i told her it was on my profile, does any one else get this treatment?  |

I have had that with a couple who started chatting to me and they asked me if I was a couple and I said no and it clearly stated that on my profile they promptly blocked me. Yet they meet single guys? |

Nope it just says he cannot accomodate. There are lots of reasons why people cant do that.

Agrees... you need to edit the wording to make it clear. We don't play with attached singles but we would have missed the fact that you are attached!!!
As said before, people can't accommodate for all sorts of reasons and that was the only clue! |

I know that, but he first claimed that it was on his profile that he was attached so I thought I would offer him some advice on how to improve his profile a bit as the discussion soon got moved to his profile, I'm not having a pop at him, just giving him some helpful tips  |

Unless someone specifically asks for their profile to be critiqued or if it's relevant to the thread e.g. someone is wondering why they're not having success, please don't critique their profile or be mean about it. We want the forum to be open and friendly to newbies and everyone starts somewhere.

You don't always know someone's current situation and how they are feeling. She may have had a recent bad experience with someone who is attached. It does say your attached at the end of your profile and she may have missed it. The best thing is just to move on. |

hahahah talk about peer pressure!!! Now that the OP's profile has been changed to 'everyones' satisfaction in answer to his q yes I get odd treatment over a similar situation, because I have 'can accommodate' on my profile. It's seen by some as an open invitation to come round my place from all over the UK. Then they get shirty when I say I don't encourage miles of travel, contradict me by saying they don't see the problem as they're willing to travel. Is there any other social situation where others can just invite themselves to your home and expect you to say yes? I don't think so. I wish there was an 'I accommodate to the invited' checkbox available because if you check 'cannot accommodate' some paranoid people start making up all sorts of assumptions as to why you chose that option.... |

The OP started a thread about someone being huffy he was attached when it was on his profile. It wasn't, so we pointed it out to him - he then amended it. Hardly see it as him changing it to suit everyone as he himself thought it was on there but it wasn't!
I try and make things easy for myself as this is fun. I've on my profile "local". If I get a message from someone in Timbuktoo, it takes but a nano second for me to delete without even opening, as I knooooow Timbuktoo isn't a London borough!
The chancers who write via the forums and state they'll be in my neck of the woods next week would I like to meet for fun, also get deleted without me raising one of my perfectly waxed eyebrows. |
