It really WAS as bad as I remembered ..

So I thought, now that I'm the proud owner of the latest Star Wars DVD, that I'd go back and watch the whole saga right through from the beginning.
What that meant of course was that I had to *finally* take the cellophane off my episodes 1-3 box set after about 3 years of ownership (Xmas present - I'd never part with my own hard-earned on it!) and *finally* rewatch Episode 1 (The Phantom Menace) after trying to erase it from my memory after watching it just the once in the cinema.
The theory : it couldn't possibly be as bad as I remembered it to be, could it?
3 words (or is it 2?) JarJar Binks. Yep - it was every bit as bad as I remembered so have stopped watching after 40 minutes.
Which got me thinking - what other situations have you found yourself in where you thought 'you know what, I'm going to give this a second chance' but it turned out to be just as bad (or worse) than the first?
I'm expecting tumble but who knows there might be some stories out there .. |

Nah jokes. But in all seriousness, Darth Maul was cool. Just forget episode 2 was ever made. And Anakin vs Obi wan is honestly one of my favourite moments because of how good Ewan McGregor is. Although it's instantly ruined by Darth Vaders "nooo" scene |

Nah jokes. But in all seriousness, Darth Maul was cool. Just forget episode 2 was ever made. And Anakin vs Obi wan is honestly one of my favourite moments because of how good Ewan McGregor is. Although it's instantly ruined by Darth Vaders "nooo" scene "
I thought Episode 3 wasn't too bad - but 1 was (and still is) woeful. Cut out Binks and all the underworld city bobbins and the rest of the film would have been ok I suppose .. |

I liked episode 2 for the Yoda lightsaber fight scene with Count Dooku, same with episode 3 getting to see Yoda fight Darth Sideous (Emperor Palpatine). Yoda kicks ass although Sideous does give him a bit of a spanking. |

The prequels are godawful, I wouldn't sully my eyeballs with them again.
I was bored rigid through Revenge of the Sith. It should have been an agonising decision to join the Dark Side - Wooden Christianson made it look as difficult as deciding between pepperoni and ham and pineapple.
