right what do you think of the scouse accent??? be honest now...or perhaps there is other accents you dont like
i personally cannot stand it. although born in liverpool but raised over the river am regarded as a plastic scouser. a term for people not brought up in liverpool. i have now lived in liverpool longer, but to an untrained ear, i suppose my accent is still scouse, albeit a posher one.
so come on tell me what accent really grates on you....bet its the scouse one |

It depends on the circumstances. If its a cheeky scally gobbing off after he stole my bag then no.
If your hilt deep is a scally bint and she is moaning away its pretty cool.
But hey thats just my views |

being a true southerner ( only lived in counties that border the south coast ) i love all accents cos we just dont have them down here . Scouse, north east ( geordie, mackem or smoggie ), any of the celtic ones , even brummie ...the only one i dont really like is bristol , no idea why lol
but more important is the tone and pitch of a voice - has to be deep and masculine , as long as its not on a girlie anyhow!

This thread could end in tears
I love the newcastle accent, don't mind scouse as long as it isn't too pronounced, can't understand a Manchester one, but love a scottish one even though I couldn't understand any of what they were saying when we visited
Lets keep it clean peeps , no insults to people who live in certain areas |

i actually do like all accents. just love scottish and irish. just cant stick my own.
i remember once being in a restaurant with my girlies. our waiter came up to our table to take our order. to this day i cant remember what he chuffing well looked like, but he had this drop dead georgous aussie accent. so the minute he said those famous words..."g'day ladies" well i was gone, i was so panting for it. When i give him my order for a New York Strip Steak. He asked how I would like my strip. Yeah poor boy uttering those words. My reponse was SLOWLY. the poor lad didnt know why a table of women suddenly pissed themselves laughing. we did give him a big tip to excuse our bad behaviour tho |

i never said that I dont like Liverpool, far from it. We do have a great city culture and nite life. However I feel entitled to say that the broad accent we have is not appealing, or so I think. And Whiston is just down the road from me, comes under Knowsley tho if am correct in thinking. See ya dont even have a purple wheelie bin....so ya different lol |

Thats on a par with telling people in Sunderland they have a geordie accent.
Scouse accent depends on who it is, sometimes its just plain annoying, other times its sexy as hell.
For some reason, and its been pointed out numerous times, I have a hint of scouse when I pronounce my K's. God only knows where that comes from, I've only been there once and that was to see Grimsby get hammered 5-0 by the pool in '78 |

perhaps they couldnt understand you tho hun.
but have to agree its a hard accent to understand if they are really scouse. My own nephew I have trouble in understanding. I have to translate to my parents what he has to say. However my own daughter, born and bred in Liverpool has a much softer tone |

Can't be doing with scouse accent,it sounds like they're clearing phlegm.
Not keen on scally Manc or Wolverhampton either.
Prefer Celtic, Northern, and West Country accents.

Every time I imagine a brummie accent I think of Timothy Spall on Auf Wiedersien Pet. You may have to give a demonstration to convert me to brum
I'm not sure what my accent sounds like. The Grimsby accent isn't quite Lincolnshire, but neither is it Yorkshire. |
