Hello Too Hot,

"Would much rather work with our European friends to fix something that is unquestionably good, but which needs attention."

Our politicians have tried that since we first joined, with no or little success. There's no chance it will change, except for the worse.

Do none of you 'In' voters care that you are governed by an unelected commission who want a totally federal Europe?

OUT and the sooner the better.

That's my point I'm fully aware of what we are told about the benefits of staying in and I think a lot is just lies. I know nothing about the benefits or negatives of opting out.

All I know is if we stay in my Daughter will save 70k on uni fees as she can go to Dublin where higher education is free if you live within the EU.

Okay, I'll help you out. There are no benefits to opting out, and the negatives are that we will be not part of the EU any more.

In or Out, University education in Scotland is free, but then so are prescriptions, free personal care in old age, free eye tests, To top it all, Scottish students pay no tuition fees, even if they attend a university in England.

.

Even taking into account greater levels of deprivation in Scotland, people north of the border receive more public funds per head, yet pay less tax.

But the Remain campaign are brave people who look forward to a bright European future with pride and optimism! Doesn't really sound like you to be honest.

On the other hand, the Leave campaign are scared of 'foreigns', scared of thinking for themselves and scared of facts and figures that are open to rational examination. Maybe that's more your style?

The EEC is far from perfect but what large organisation is? We need to work to improve it instead of moaning about it. How easy it is to forget about the positive aspects and concentrate on some negatives. Even Boris has had to admit he has exaggerated the stories about EEC taking our sovereinty away.

Most of these stories come from the sun, the mail and the telegraph (they dont deserve capitals). Who owns them and what are their agendas? Its hardly even handed reporting from those papers......good news dosnt sell ....maybe you are being manipulated? Press and media de regulation.....less rights for employees... are what those

You won't find much sense from Leavers.

If you want a laugh, take a look at the Vote Leave Campaign Director Dominic Cummings embarrassing himself completely in front of a parliamentary select committee, when he finds himself unable to answer any questions on the EU with any facts.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/apr/20/accuracy-is-for-snake-oil-pussies-vote-leaves-campaign-director-defies-mps

He is so ill-informed, I'm surprised he's not posting on Fab!

Long before joining the EEC, what is your definition of Long? We had great links with the commonwealth right upto the point we shamefully turned our backs on them and joined the EEC. What a catastrophic mistake it was to do that, we should leave and reignite those historic links with the commonwealth.

Your last sentence "a united Europe against the rest of the world" is quite telling. Leaving the EU is about rejoining the rest of the world, not going against them like you want to do by staying in the EU.

I'm a gambler then. I don't like making a decision about something I know very little about. I keep reading we should stay because of this or leave because of that, but they don't explain why it would happen. Even if they did it would be too much for my brain to comprehend. I'm probably thinking stay but I am wondering what the Eurocrats have in store for us,after we vote in. Time will tell.

What utter crap its the UNITED KINGDOM!!!!!

Great Britain was when we ruled the waves and had an empire .we lost all that long before joining the EEC. Don't waste an opportunity to show we are a united Europe.against the rest of the world ..

IN...IN...IN...IN...IN...IN...

we gave India independence in 1947 way before the eec as with most of the rest of our empire ..long before the eec

The out campaign promises a rosey utopian vision of patriotism and Britan being great.

It looks to the past not the future. Our past wasnt actually that great....our empire was based on killing and stealing from other countries. We were more commercial and technologically advanced vikings really. A small percentage of people in this country became very wealthy and enjoyed the benefits of our habit of invading other countries. Life was pretty grim for the rest of the country...the peasants.....the soldiers and the sailors.

Many people have commented on the lack of informed debate....on the negativity from both sides....this negativity is increasingly polarising the country and even fab. Lol

The main issue for the leave campaign is the lack of a business plan or road map for the future. If BP, Amazon, google or any large company wanted to fundamentally alter their business and relationships their share holders would expect a detailed anaysis and business plan.....The Directors wouldnt even contemplate not doing so.

How Boris and co can contemplate doing this with a country and nearly 60 million people I dont know. Its like staking all our futures on hope and a hand of cards we havnt even been dealt.

You are so wrong. The out campaign are looking to the future not the past

It is the EU that are stuck in the past. They are trying to recreate the things that have failed before and that is why they are failing now.

Does nobody read the unemployment figures coming out of the EU? The fact that their trade with the world is dropping? The fact that soon the banks will be charging them to hold on to their money? Etc etc etc. Its had it

No they already stated their voting intention which was out. The leave side want to be friends and trade with Europe, just not part of a corrupt and undemocratic club called the EU. A relationship on trade and trade alone (which is what the EU started off as), not what it has morphed and mutated into now a hiddious monstrosity of ever closer political union and monetary union, and what it proposes to become in future (a united states of Europe) is even more sinister.

Lol

What future...they cant even articulate or describe this future

Where is their business plan. I can understand wanting changebut surely we deserve a detailed plan of the change rather than its all going to be better and britan will be great again. Thats child like in its ambition ...and description.

If your boss said to you. Im going to change all your terms of employment...or you bank said we are changing the terms of your mortgage.....you dont have to know the details.....in fact we dont have any....but dont worry...it will all be better for you!

Would you say ....yes great?

Its not that getting out of europe per se is a bad idea.....its that these advoctes of doing so.....Gove....Boris....the telegraph...murdoch papers etc.....cant tell us how ...what ...when.....and they dont really have the interests of the average persin at heart. They all have millions stashed away. They will be fine whatever happens......its a massive gamble for the majority of us.....betting on a game of cards without even seeing the hand we have been dealt.

Hardly surprising, is it? The Leave campaign appeals squarely to people who think we are defined by our flag, and will follow anyone who waves it at them.

Remain supporters are a little more sophisticated than that, fortunately.

Worth keeping this highlighted if you get frustrated by Leave supporters on here being unable to come up with any facts to back up their arguments, just variations on 'everything will be better'.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/apr/20/accuracy-is-for-snake-oil-pussies-vote-leaves-campaign-director-defies-mps

This is Dominic Cummings, the Campaign Director of Vote Leave, being unable to answer a single question about Europe put to him by a parliamentary committee with any knowledge or facts...for three whole hours.

And he is a lot better informed than your average Leave supporter, that's for sure!

Right you sexy lot

I've tried to total all the definitive votes.

Some of you have been In, some out and some have shaken it all about.

My swingometer has been working overtime (but that's another story!!)

After 116 votes I think we can take something from this and see how close we are to the actual result.

IN - 50%

OUT - 42.5%

UNDECIDED - 7.5%

Now that's sorted we can get on with trying to get laid
