I'm sure we could twist some car names by a letter or two to make them more "sexy"
How about.....
Skoda Labia (Fabia)
Vauxhall Corset (Corsa)
Ford Fiesta......readers wives special edition?
Please feel free to continue! |

"Mitsubishi shogun is known in most of the as the Pajero which means wanker in Spanish
It doesn't but it's a very common myth"

"Don't need to - L is Canarian/Gitano and fluent.
Gillipollas is wanker/dickhead in Spanish.
Pajero in Argentinian is slang for a lazy fuck/wanker."
In the rest of the Spanish speaking world it literally means
Straw holder
Wanker
Tosser
And jerk off
In some parts it also means plumber. |

Bloomin got excited thinking this post was about pet names that people call their cars. I'm trying to come up with a pet name for my new car.

I read somewhere that the Toyota MR2 was an unfortunate name in France as it pronounced similar to merde (shit) and the Opel Ascona had trouble in Spain as it pronounced similar to a word describing a lady's privates. |

My friend had a ford escort the ones when the name badge was metal... He snipped up the escort badge and weld it back together to say scrote ... I did laugh when I saw it and always refer to escorts as scrote cars... That's not to say that drivers of a scrote are dicks |

There are also a number of different dialects of spanish spoken not only on the mainland but in the Balearics, Canaries, etc so lets not get hung up on that hey....
Spanish does not translate literally into english as the likes of german, etc do.
Google translate won't tell you that though but perhaps if you tried using it and then reversing the translation you'd have seen that for yourself.
You won't get back what you put in... |

You are saying that despite all the dictionary quotations and other native Spanish speakers confirming that pajero means wanker. We are all victims of an urban mythical conspiracy to prove you and one Japanese car manufacturer right.
If I and all the dictionaries and and Spanish speakers are incorrect, you won't mind me calling you a pajero will you?
Have a nice day. |

Oh dear... one other spanish speaker has posted in here. ? Did you not see the part where she stated that it was for Castellano and not any other dialect? Not sure where you've counted the rest from.
The only other spanish speaker referenced happens to be L who is currently pissing himself at your lack of a grasp of foreign languages and the fact that not everything you read on the internet is true. |

A friend at work had a VW Bora. It said Bora one end of the boot lid and TDi in the other end so as he had curly dark hair and big tash we hairdrye_ed the T off the TDi and moved across so it read VW Borat.
Took him three months to notice. |

There are other separate regional languages, note the word regional and note the word language, including the worlds oldest language From the Basque region.
If you want to argue with my ex mother in law and my relations in the Canaries and South America, feel free. I didn't mention it to the friends in Majorca or Barcelona because I can't read and write in Catalan. I get by there because most of the signs are in dual languages.
I'm off to cook dinner Hasta la proxima |
