Spotted this letter to agony aunt Deidre in The Sun this morning. I just thought I'd share it with you all. It made me smile that someone would go to the trouble of writing to a national newspaper because they'd been duped by a fake profile. We've all seen disgruntled men but I thought this was a bit of an extreme step. Then again this is The Sun, so it could all just be made-up bollocks...
'Woman' on adult site was a bloke
I thought I was talking to a woman on a website but it turns out "she" was a man with a fake profile.
I'm a 42-year-old man. I have been chatting on an adult website for no other reason than to pass the time.
I started chatting to a 34-year-old divorced woman. A few members on the site have since told me this is in fact not a woman at all but a man with a fake profile.
I have no desire to do anything on this site other than chat but I feel I've been duped. The administrators of the site claim this is a common problem and they can't do anything about it.
Has a law been broken? Shouldn't the people doing this be investigated?
DEIDRE SAYS: Creating a fake profile by itself is not against the law unless there is an attempt to use it to do something like extract money. But you can report it to ActionFraud, the UK's national fraud reporting centre.
If all you really want is to chat to pass the time, best stay off these adult websites which tend to be all about sex talk and are full of people practising all sorts of deception. |

Best just clear this up...I don't read newspapers generally (they really are just like a false map of the world) and certainly not The Sun. However, I was browsing through the paper this morning and happened upon dear old Deirdre. Always good for a laugh |

This is the woman who believes couples shouldn't take part in group sex because it will inevitably cause problems in your relationship and if you do partake it's because you have some deep rooted psychological problem.
