ladies and gents what is the most backhanded compliment or insult you have ever received whether it be in one of the chatrooms or a msg.
mine was given in the chatroom and was " tatted your a big girl arnt you, you would eat me alive if we met"  |

I've said this before but variations on the I'd be pretty if I made an effort or I'm pretty despite being fat are the main two. Oh, and I once got told I was too pretty to be that intelligent. So they always tend to be 'pretty but...' type ones. |

I got really offended the first time a guy told me I was "thick" took some backtracking from him to explain that he was American and apparently it's a good thing. Funny, it still makes me want to stab eyes with forks when I hear the term, compliment or not!

i am not sure where the compliment is in that?

i asked him if it was a backhanded compliment or insult he never did tell me which was lol |

Someone once told me my eyes were really big, then went on to say good thing they are, they match your nose.. emm.. thanks? I think? Do you want a slap now or later?
Another one was chatting to a lassie a couple years younger than me from school at a fayre day here and when she looked at me she asks how she knows me so when I say I was in year x with so and so she goes 'oh the 'lucy'(me) I knee back then was a right fatty' at this point I was roughly 35 weeks pregnant and had a very neat bump, I nearly punched her! (I wasn't a small teenager but I didn't think people classed me as the fat one out of my friends!) |
