Ever since we've taken a break from meeting I've had a pretty good time fucking around with our profile and pictures and seeing what effect, if any, it has on messages we receive. My findings have been interesting  |

If you look at it from a pure statistics point of _iew, I would bet less than 0.5% of the site regularly read / post in the forums.
So statistically you're far more likely to get to know people who aren't on the forums.
But it does make me laugh - the forum users who think this is the epicenter of the action and the 'Court of Owls' of the site as a whole.

I'm definitley meeting, but I've never felt that I should alter my personality to get them, the ruse would very quickly be up if a meet did occur.

For me the forum has always been about chat and banter and exchange of ideas with interesting people, a bit of relaxation and unwinding after a stressful day at work ... We have met people who have posted and been interested in chatting to them socially because of their forum posts, but only if they were going somewhere we were going anyway. I d understand that for some people here the forum is a big part of their lives, that's just strange and a bit sad |

I have never compromised or edited any _iew in order to become more popular on the forum or in order to possibly meet.
None of my pictures are chosen in order to enhance meeting, they are there because I personally like them.
I enjoy the forum because of the many varied threads and of course the posters who make them interesting. You never know what direction a thread will take, who'd have thought a make up thread would have to be closed by the moderator.
I cant imagine what it would be like if I had to edit posts to become more popular in the hope I would meet more forum users.

Perhaps pressure isn't the right word.. I mean like when your profile states that your not meeting most people know that you aren't so you can just talk about anything without it turning into a so you want to meet tomorrow conversation. If that makes sense? |

That's really odd. The majority of my meets have come around due to interaction on the forum. I rarely look at profiles close to me..but then I am happier if a meet falls out of a friendship...not really a fan of having sex with someone I dont know or like. |

We met here and took a break for a month or so but found it a bit boring not being on the forums having a chat (or killing threads!) so we rejoined again and it's been lovely just being able to have a laugh over things in an environment we both love, enjoy and understand. Plus also we haven't told anyone apart from a few people where we met for obvious reasons so being able to have that freedom of speech on such inappropriate (to the norms of this world) things is lovely!!
