I just wanna get this one down, I think I get what women are talking about when they say they like 'rugby player' type physiques on men - I'm imagining a husky look of size (14 stone+), strong looking arms, big hairy chest, little muscle tone, probably fairly soft in the belly, but with the strength beneath readily apparent, am I right?

Which guys on here, would women deem to have such physiques?

If someone tells me they have a 'rugby player' build, I assume in my head they are fat. Like women who say they are 'curvy'.

Almost all the rugby players I have known have had bodies more like bodybuilders crossed with cyclists.

In the middle

To me it's strong shoulders, toned arms, toned stomach but not to a 6 pack degree and nice muscly thighs with big calve muscles, throw in a broken nose and a cauliflower ear and there you have it

Tray describes my build as rugby type broad shoulders, big chest, not flabby but no six pack either and muscular legs with the v-shape to go with it and I did play several years ago but modern day players a lot more toned now then I ever was

I'm built for playing rugby and did so in the army and sometimes for Winchester. Thighs like tree trunks and big arms. The only problem is now I am getting older I'm sure it will all turn to fat soon. So I'm dieting. 14 stone now. Was 16. Aim to get to 12 by next year.

Rugby has a position for lots of different sized blokes, especially in amateur Rugby union.

I played until last year on the wing. I've seen quite a few 'body types' in my position, although on average, I'm fairly big for a winger. Scrum and fly halves almost always smaller/thinner than me, centres usually bigger....I could go on.

I wrote a post describing the various builds a while back...

Well maybe the front row but these days Current rugby players (rather than retired) are a lot fitter and faster.

That's exactly me.

94kgs

Still strong, pretty solid all round a little padding around the midriff.

Able to bang out a decent 5K run

Squat a good amount

2000m on the ergo in respectable time, flexible and can swim fast.

But still like a pint and don't spend every moment I am in the gym checking myself out in the mirror.

Oh and I am a pretty decent fuck, apparently!

Jools says I make her feel protected and safe. Solid but cuddly.

Rugby build would depend completely on position. They used to day rugby was a game for everyone. No matter what size you were, there's a position for you. Less so now I'm the pro era, as you have to be big. I'm 5'10" and 80kgs, have always played centre or back row. I would say in current terms I'm built more like a back than a forward.
