Its really quite a worry when you read the data.. So many big earthquakes in such a shirt time...even in this earthquake prone area..well above average..

And fears that these are all precursors of a much bigger one... Yet its quiet on the news front... Not totally ignored but really.. Seems unless its a high death toll its barely news worthy x

My thoughts go out to those affected

this is what I mean.. I saw that and after the several in Japan. I thought oh.. And on the geological sites there are swarms of earthquakes all over that area...

Obviously a even bigger one over there could have far reaching effects x

Okay seems the bbc are briefly covering it and a link although unofficial has been made about recent activity across the pacific ring if fire... He did say he doesn't know if its connected but that people in the areas are concerned ...

There was also an earthquake in Tonga ( excuse spelling ) and volcanic activity in Mexico.

Newcastle and Gateshead

well on the west coast of the us they are always awaiting the coming of "the big one".....which is overdue...

god forbid if you got something like a 7.5-8.0 quake near LA or the bay area (SF/oakland)

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

The one in Myanmar a few days ago was reported on breakfast TV - but only because William and Kate felt a wobble on their trip. They didnt actually say anything about what had happened in Myanmar on the report that I saw.

A 6.8 hit a large area on the Indian subcontinent last week too, then Mynamar, then far east and finally the one in Ecuador. All gradually getting bigger within a few days.
