Was just wondering if you don't intend to use a hotel room all night can you just leave that evening and leave the key in the room. I'm really talking about hotel chains ie travelodge where you have paid for the room before checking in.
Thanks |

Just drop the key into reception, no need for cloak and dagger. What are they going to do? Shout after you "I hope you enjoyed your illicit sexual encounter, please tell your swinging friends!" |

You Dont Need to Know, right now |
"... I feel so sheepish when done in the past"
Don't feel sheepish about it (hotel staff really aren't interested in your personal business). But hand in your key and say 'we find we can't stay after all' .... that way the housekeeping team know they can clean your room first, the next morning. Yes, housekeepers get paid for their work, but little courtesies like this make their job a lot easier. |

Just drop the key into the returned key hole in the desk. They don't give a monkeys ss you have paid for it. The worst thing is to say something sheepishly. .....they know what you have been up to and really don't care. In fact one of the local chain hotels has a swinger receptionist and she really knows the score |

And if you've booked out they won't be looking for you if there is a emergency ie a fire |
