Had my op on Monday, discharged on Wednesday, back to hospital via ambulance on Thursday in total agony. Turns out I have a haematoma and infection which doesn't seem to be responding to the antibiotic drip. This has not gone to plan!!!

Chams or Socials

My friend had hers last March. She had horrific complications which I won't mention. A year on she's been fixed & just gone back to work.

Make sure you are happy with your treatment & care & refuse to leave until you are satisfied xxx And get lots of rest xxx

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Sorry to hear that. I hope it gets sorted quickly.

I assume it was an abdominal cut rather than a vaginal hysterectomy?

Thankfully they did it laparoscopically but they weren't able to do it vaginally - much better than a big cut though! Xxx

Home for a week now an slowly getting there - one of the worst things now is boredom! Who knew having a free license to spend all day doing diddly squat would be so tiresome ?!

Well you've had a physically challenging fortnight, it's fine to be tired. Get well soon.

Mine was horrendous at the time but now it's the best thing that ever happened to me.

I'm really sympathetic I had a laparotomy in Feb was out of hospital after a week rushed back a week later with infection it really put my recovery back.

I got into all sorts of tv shows, but it got really boring back to work now but still tender at times.

I wish you all the best and hope you have a speedy recovery

Allow yourself to be exhausted, to sleep and take it easy. Don't tey to be a hero, but take painkillers if you need them.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

My daugher had a hysterectomy when she was 18 it was a terrible time, not so much physically although there were some complications after the operation, she was admitted back in within a week due to bleeding that wouldn't stop, but it was more the mental side that was harder to deal with, she went into a real deep depression for about 18 months after they almost sectioned her at one point because she started self harming, she had convinced herself nobody would want her now and she had nothing to live for, it was a really hard and heartbreaking time and such a big thing to go through at such a young age

I'm so thankful that I've had the opportunity to have a family and had already decided not to have anymore and been sterilised. I think all of the emotional side I went through then, this hysterectomy has been more of a chance at better health so a positive thing. Feel so much empathy for those in situations like your daughter x
