What % of guys are single?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I've chatted to quite a few guys on Fab, who have turned out to have a partner who's unaware they are looking for.. extra curricular entertainment.

No judgement. For my own sanity I only want to play with genuinely single guys, or a guy with a missus who know he's on here and is happy about it.so I don't have an angry woman on my trail ready to try and trash my life as "revenge"!

I've even pulled a couple of guys in nightclubs recently and all three have turned out to have girlfriends. It's only because I say I'm married, and are they attached, they feel confident telling me the truth as they think I'll be fine with it.

The % seems VERY high, from my experience.

And it's got me thinking... all the guys I met when I was younger and saw on and off, nothing serious, and the one night stands - I wonder how many weren't single either? I always assumed it must be me, that I'm generally quite annoying and they don't want to stick around? (Although that's probably part of it )

My husband has a theory that guys remain in relationships they aren't happy with as it's a guaranteed fuck, whereas it's much easier for women to go pull whenever they want. So men don't tend to be single for very long?

No idea if that's true?

You lot are opinionated, what do you think? Are there very few single guys (past the age of 25ish)?

I'd say a good 80% of the guys I have spoken to on here have a partner. Not an issue for me but I'd rather know than not

Well I am single, and if it's only me and there are 20,000 men on the site, that would make it 0.005%

You'll never find out the true answer, but I bet there are plenty of ladies who secretly have relationships in the background.

I will guess between 10% and 90%

I am single and very happy being that way. Having lots of fun in the swinging scene and enjoying the freedom meeting different women so I'm reluctant to get tied down now. If I did decide to settle down and get into a relationship I think I would prefer it if she was also a swinger so we could swing together as a couple.

Surely an ability to accomodate will sort out the genuinely single blokes.

Having read your profile, however, it seems that even I don't fit your classification of single because I do have a sheep that I am particularly fond of...

A lot of people judge it purely on the single persons ability to accommodate but in truth that test has a fair few flaws, particularly in a modern day where many people live at home with parents longer and also there is so many split families.

I'd like to think men who are not single and live with their partner would not offer to accommodate? Probably naive of me

I'm guessing it's equally true about women. But I'm on here to meet men, not women. So that doesn't really affect me.

Nope. Imagine a man got divorced, gave up the house (because that's what a man does), went travelling around the world, his mum got ill, he returned to the UK to look after her.....

Being able to accommodate is no indication whatsoever

Those damned sheep!

One guy I recently met who was desperate to find a hotel room for us that night (and then we couldn't so postponed it - and then later said he had a girlfriend...)... HE sent me a text today saying he's split up with his girlfriend but he's now temporarily homeless too.

Strange how only a few weeks back before I knew he was attached, he was inviting me round to "his" place.

Seems they CAN even accommodate with a girlfriend. So glad I didn't go round there, I would've been mortified if she turned up unannounced and walked in on us when I didn't know about her existence!

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

They start off single, then get married, then are single again after a messy divorce.

If I'm at a club or meeting in a hotel I don't vet them too closely, but one on one meets have to be with really real single blokes as they're less likely to be clock watching.

Of the single blokes I have met I would say a good 80% of them were really real singles.

Hey, this is fab, if a guy likes pink and wants to use feminine products, you shouldn't judge. Be more open minded.

I don't think you can particularly tell if someone's partnered up 100%. I was seeing someone from here, was meeting at his house, no clock watching, no phone checking, no particularly feminine things in the house. Turned out he lived with his gf who worked nights which was when he could meet so easily

Again, that generally doesn't describe me because if I'm not working at the weekend, I have my daughter, although with enough notice I can take the day off if I like the person I'm meeting enough....

Although last time I tried that, work told me I couldn't have the day off after all and I left a poor girl in my bed whilst I got up at 3.45 and went to work all morning....

Honestly, a lot of people do it as almost a nervous reaction - it's like a comfort zone for them.

I'm not saying it because I do - I hardly look at my phone unless I'm alone.

I did see a guy for quite a long period of time. Turns out he met a girl while we were seeing each other.

I knew he was looking, but I assumed once he found someone, he'd say so, stop seeing me and see them instead.

But he decided to "overlap us" for a while and I had absolutely no idea until he told me.

I was a bit gutted he didn't say anything because I thought we were mates and I was really hoping he would get himself a girlfriend!

(And no phone checking when we were together either.)

So now I don't really believe it's possible to tell. Yes you can probably tell if they are married or living together, but you can't tell if they are long term dating someone as easily.

The "dating" question is quite an interesting one though.

Until recently, I had been attempting to date (and failing spectacularly), I had no idea at what point to hide my fabs profile... I have lots of first dates, so it seems pointless to hise it after one date, and of those who want to see me again, I generally manage three dates with them. None of this qualifies as a relationhip in my eyes, although I wouldn't have met anyone from here in betwen dates, if it had progressed past date one. That said, why shouldn't I? I always assume people are dating others (and it doesn't bother me) until they find someone they want to stick with....

"I did see a guy for quite a long period of time.

Yes you can probably tell if they are married or living together, but you can't tell if they are long term dating someone as easily."

I don't think you can tell either, especially if they're in a new or casual open relationship where they are still seeing others.

I'm sure a few men would act the same as him, date the new women whilst keeping the one he has casual sex with in the loop, just in case the newbie doesn't progress into girlfriend material.

"Genuinely single men are the real unicorns on here in my opinion.

Just asking what is a unicorn?

Usually, it means a single bisexual female..."

Stupid me!

Sorry I thought it was situational based?

Where one of the kids has found a vibrator and is galloping around the house holding it to their forehead lol

My goal is to weigh in about 110kg, just 15kg to gain to reach it.

I'm single, I suppose separated is the correct term until divorce comes through. On here as I'm not wanting another relationship as yet. Can't accommodate as my kids live with me. Arranging meets is sometimes takes a while but it depends on how much effort you're prepared to put in.

We reckon less than 20% of "single" males really are unattached.

Any profile I read that says discreet (or even discrete) or talks about discretion, it gives the impression they are either married, or seeing someone at the very least.

Is weird. I actually thought that most of the single guys on here were single. But this thread is telling me different. Who knew , well everyone except me obviously.

Are there really that many married/relationshipped guys on here? What a minefield!!

Perhaps a true single guy is difficult to find. I am a bit martini (anytime, anyplace, anywhere) and hope that does enough to allay fears.

Your radar needs fine tuning then as there are lots of genuine 100% single guys.

Me being one of them
