"cover tunes in a long time?
The sound of silence by Disturbed

"
Someone was listening to radio 2 there
Check out Flunk's true faith and blue Monday.
But this definitely up there with Johnny Cash's hurt, Petshop boys always on my mind and travis hit me baby one more time.
What can I say, I love a good cover |

Thread running already.
But for me, no. I like re-interpretations generally and could reel off several that I think are noteworthy.
But I find this one forced, clichéd, too earnest - a bit like David Brent would do. In fact I thought of his deliberately awful cover in the episode when he used his redundancy money to try and launch himself as a pop star, when I heard it. |

Looking forward to it
Disturbed also reminded me of a reasonably well known Rock singer/songwriter I know, who having found God, decided to to do a rock album setting the book of Genesis to music. Whilst it was musically polished and dramatic, with good video, it was cringeworthily cheesy and embarrassing
Needless to say, it flopped totally, you can't even find it in charity shops |
