Following on from the best bands thread.what band did you go and see and the supporting act were better? Mine are....
Moby better than chillis
Goldblade better than stranglers
Incubus better than korn

Cant really say I have seen a support band that was "better" than the main group but then typing this, only one out of all the groups I have seen has come to mind
main group lady antebellum
Support - Brandy Clark, this girl is simply amazing
.
if you have time listen to Brandy Clark track "hold my hand"
.
one other backing group that was/is highly under rated are "the adventures"

I thought ABC were better than Robbie when I went to see him.
When I saw the Prodigy I thought Enter Shikari were much better. |

Can't say that I have been to a gig where disappointed with main act. ..I have seen some excellent support acts who i have gone on to see again. .

I went to see Jack Savoretti recently he was great but the support act was so awful that the people who caught the CD s she threw into the audience gave them away  .

I've seen this a lot in comedy, where the middle 10s have had a better night than the headliner. Mostly this is due to low expectations and them being an unknown entity, so they can just let go and experiment.
Acts in this category include Caimh McDonnell and Marvyn Dickinson.  |

Seen a few but coz the music i go for is very selective it's a vase of putting bands on bills then deciding who's gonna play in what order. Entombed opening for Napalm Death in 94 though... |
