Couldn't get it down to 3 with well over 1000 gigs attended, but highlights include
INXS- kick tour (about 1991)- NEC Arena (now the Genting Arena). Totally at the peak of their career on this tour.
Nine Inch Nails (same venue- by then the LG Arena- 2014)- one of the most intense performances I've ever seen
The Wonder Stuff (too many gigs and venues in the last 30ish years to mention- always a pleasure to see the stuffies).
Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs (at a festival- can't remember which one). Comedy Skiffle band, fucking hilarious! |

Can't choose just 3, sorry.
In no particular order
Muse ... anywhere
Coldplay ... anywhere
Stereophonics ... good everywhere but really loved it when they played at De Montfort Hall Leicester.
Kasabian ... good everwhere but loved it at De Montfort Hall and Vicky Park Leicester.
Obviously Leicester is my home town so it's great seeing anyone there.
I'm a LCFC fan too as are Kasabian and it's great when they do footy chants during their concerts. |

Rammstein at the LG Arena
The Who at the Albert Hall (best venue ever)
but top of my list will always be Hendrix at the Isle of White, I was a kid at the time, and can't remember what the sound was like etc. But I ran away from home, hitched a lift (several really, but my memory is of 1, 2 seconds after putting my thumb out) then he went and died on me before I could see him again.
Many ohers, some known more unknown pub bands were fantastic. but those 3 are top of the list. |

"Some great bands and great memories am sure..but the stand out still has to be the heavy metal German bagpipe band!!"
Ha ha ha! They were pretty spectacular.
Plus, the setting of a very LOTR style tavern set it off pretty well too! |

Technically 'Chas n Dave'
They were one of the support acts on Status Quo's 'End of the Road' tour at Crystal Palace. The previous band had been bottled off, and the crowd was impatient. They came on, involved the crowd and really lightened the mood. Apart from the Quo, they were the only ones asked for an encore.
But my memory might be swayed by the general excitement of bunking off school, being only 17 at the time, having to ride in the luggage rack on the way back to London, then sleeping at the station until the mail train left.

Billy Idol at Download a few years ago, he's not even in my top ten of favorite music artists, but his sheer stage presence and attitude , bouncing around like a lunatic, no shirt on, as the rain was pissing down, got the crowd going in the miserable weather just by sheer force of will, amazing performance
Fear factory at their first gig in the UK for years in Camden underworld
The Cranberries at Milton Keynes bowl, they supported REM along with Radio Head, amazing gig |

"The script ,Portsmouth amazing "
Agree they're great live.
I'm finding it really hard to pick. I'll go with these as they were brilliant concerts for different reasons- as in who I was with and the whole event.
Metallica - Milton Keynes Bowl 1993
Ocean Colour Scene - 1996
And one for Mr G - he was running a pub and had no idea who the guy was that walked in with a mutual friend. They asked if he could sing with his guitar in the bar. It turned out to be Eric Clapton.

Right OK so I just realised it's top 3 (I accidentally posted a long spiel of my top 20 or so!).
It's tough to choose a top 3 but for today let's go with:
R.E.M. Brixton academy 2003 (so wish I could've seen them in the 80s and 90s)
Stevie Wonder - Glasto 2010
"Weird Al" Yankovic - Hammersmith apollo 2015 (seriously! Very funny and huge talent)
... the third would have to rotate

"Seen loads over the years, but 3 that stick out in my mind particularly are:
Led Zep - Knebworth '79
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Manchester Apollo '88
Jean Michel Jarre - Barcelona '92 "
Having said that, The Stranglers at The Assembly Rooms in Derby '82 were pretty cool, as were ZZ Top at Milton Keynes Bowl '91 |

1 Eric Church at Shepards Bush empire, fantastic concert, one of the loudest I've ever been to and his songs are immense, also good to see a performer loving what he does rather than being mean and moody because thats whats cool.
2 Ryan Adams in Brixton, went on my own as no one would go with me and so glad that I did.
3 Springsteen at Glastonbury, wasn't a fan and only went with a mate to keep him company (wasn't fussed about whoever was playing at same time!) He was amazing and played for over 3 and a half hours, fantastic! |

Ooh tough one this...
I'll go
Peter Gabriel, Earls Court 92. Not the best venue, but first time I'd seen him.
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Rah, 2012. Good venue, first gig I took my son to.
Prince. Too many to pick a favourite. For atmosphere, probably the last of his 21 nights at the O2. Emotionally charged night, and he knew it. |
