If you need to ask it's probably best you just skip to the next profile and not worry yourself about it.

Put it another way;

If you need to know what it means, it means 'not you'.

If the username is Bodey, or Doyle, it might mean something quite... different.

Its a lovely word but really seems to upset many people for some reason. I have my own ideas but i guess we all do.

What i suspect many mean by it is they are a clean, well groomed suited and booted couple with a clean hygienic house, clean linen and live to a certain standard.

I think what the professional tag is supposed to say they are not scruffy, dog end smoking, shell suite wearing, one bath a week, rotten teeth, foul mouthed, unhygienic scutters who thing dressing up is putting on a baseball cap.

Alas nobody would put all that so put professional. a tenna says i am right in 90% of cases

It usually refers to there profession...IE they work in a bank etc as apposed to being on benefits

Pardon me being a dolt ...... but working in a bank is not a profession. A career maybe, a job maybe but a profession .....nah.

Maybe the bank manager is a professional.

that's the wiki list and, if nothing else, it shows the challenges faced when making such a list.

No mention of vets? Clergymen?

Why include financial analysts?

Their definition was based on ed. quals.

I'm looking for a better list. There were others I wouldn't have included either.

"Blimey, that list is naff... I'd not consider half of them to be "professions"."

Four of those job titles on that list apply to me, and I'd say that only one of them makes me a true professional - so I agree, it does seem a naff list.
