Go to the docs. I thought I had IBS for years, turns out I had intestinal polyps and Diverticular Disease. A small op and change of diet has sorted me out. |

My ex suffers, he's cut out meat, caffeine & reduced his intake of white refined foods ie white rice, white bread etc & he's a lot better for it!
It affects people differently so you need to find things that work for you.
Stay away from multi seeded foods, it can cause flare ups!
Good luck x |

Stress is always a major factor ...
Oil, dairy, spices also tend to contribute majorly.
However everyone is different and what they have a tolerance for differs.
I would just say try to manage any stress and eat healthier |

"Anyone with IBS and managed to find something that help? "
Work out what part of your diet is causing it, get a Nutibullit (or similar) and give yourself a morning blast of appropriate nutritional products. Problem solved. |

Raw and not well cooked veg like stir fry make mine worse. Greasy or spicy foods too.
I find Cos lettuce and raw peppers are awful so choose salads wisely when i have salad. No more coleslaw for me |

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease last year, at 23 being told you've got an incurable disease and your going to be on medication for the rest of your life really pissed me off.
While it's a form of IBD, totally different but often mistaken for IBS, the triggers seem similar.
Processed cider and the usual stuff that don't go down well, baked beans etc. I've totally stopped.
I only drink bitter shandies, any sort of processed alcohol really hurts, but I'm ok with bitter shandies and will only have 2 or 3.
Thankfully I'm still in one piece, but this fucker is going to come back and get me sooner or later which I've just had to accept. I was completely fucked for 4 months on the first flare up. And on the next one they will ramp up my medication onto some hardcore steroids.....hello weekly blood tests. My first round of steroids lasted 8 weeks on the entry level stuff and I'd really much prefer never to go back there
My biggest factor that sends me into meltdown is stress, I try my best not to let trivial pointless shit bother me anymore. |

My triggers are eating, not eating, breathing and blinking.
Incidentally peppermint tablets and all the usual IBS stuff reduce me to tears in agony. Same for having too much fibre or too much water.
If you find something OP please let me know |

Yes I have it and it's been with me since early teens.
Stress is a big factor for triggering it so I made lifestyle changes to reduce stress.
Processed foods and especially dairy products cause my insides mayhem.
Two spoons of Ben and jerrys or a few crackers with pate and my insides were off to the races.
At the moment my dairy is at a very little. Only cows milk in coffee etc. Oat milk in milkshakes and on cereals etc.
Food I cook from scratch and apart from shit food Friday I avoid ready meals.
1 full blender jug (2 litres) per day of green smoothie.
At the moment my IBS is very minimal only surfacing from self infliction on the Friday. |

Sorry to hear that - I had ulcerative colitis. They cured that by cutting my large intestine out though. |

my daughter has a few bowel/gastro problems - ibs is often food triggered so basically finding out what it is and avoidance is the way to start - you can see a nutritionist who can really help |

"Anyone with IBS and managed to find something that help? "
I have had IBS all my life. Nowadays the flare ups are not due to diet nor stress, they just happen. I take prescription medication every day to try to maintain feeling well. If it flares up worse then i take colpermin. I'm on strong painkillers all the time anyway (for something else) so they probably help anyway.
If i have a really bad day or several bad days i go to bed to try to sleep it away, a hot water bottle sometimes helps.
Some people say exercise helps but i find it makes things worse if i exercise during a bad flare up.
Seems odd but i was actually pleased when i was diagnosed with IBS as at least my problems had a name ! |

this is what my daughter has and ulcerative colitis - flare ups put her in hossie - stress definitely add to it as she was super ill the last year of uni - she has cut out meat a lot - defo no read meat - drinks soya or almond meats and hardly ever has cheese - drinks ginger, peppermint and green teas and id say she is now the healthiest she has been all her life - i am now frantically running round touching every bit of available wood |

I had to resit my final year because of my UC - I had my op then, and I have to say that now I'm glad that I got it over with. My life is so much simpler with an ilieostomy. |

Hence why I put I'm still in one piece, it's a hidden disease and most people don't know anything about it, I've got away pretty lightly so far conpared to some. |

Brown bread, rice, nuts, anything high in fibre ...stuff that really should be good for you leaves me with faint inducing pain and terrible diarrhea
And stress...it really does make a difference |

Cream and heavy dairy products set mine off. I rarely drink milk any more, I use hazelnut milk now.
Incidentally, an over the counter IBS medication has seen the use in prison triple after it was found to contain a very powerful hallucinogenic. |

"FODMAP. Then reintroduce slowly and see what your triggers are."
FODMAP and look into your gluten tolerance. I suffered with it years until it became chronic last year. So much better now. |

Don't worry, you have to crush and burn it. Specified use won't cause you to start taking a trip on the magic roundabout! |
