I am not just speaking of the latest episode in his life. It's all of his life from start to now and his amazing ability to shoulder and cope privately and publicly.
I have to keep adding that i'm not religious. I am touched by his story from the human angle. |

I thought the same about Mary Berry when I saw the two of them talking. They both had a dignity and honesty about them when talking about their children.
I admire his ability to face life and cope with it but I have a nameless reservation about him that for the life of me I can't articulate. |

To be fair, it wasn't HIS life that was full of alcohol and a brief affair, it was his mothers and all of that stopped many many years ago. As far as I know she was not unfaithful during her marriage. |

In this case the reason was The Telegraph. I think (hope) that he's an absolutely honest and transparent man (as he should be) and felt that he had no reason not to open up but I wondered why it needed to be on the news etc. Mind you I'm not a Christian so he isn't important to me as a spiritual leader but must be to those that do practice. |

I'm not sure she did deceive. Their son was born 9 months after her marriage which although quite hasty wouldn't give much time to even discover she was pregnant. |

I knew a little of him but not much. What first interested me was watching a programme about 3-4 years ago about mental illness. There was a girl talking candidly about her expriences as a sufferer. She was childlike, fun, intelligent , charming...... and casually dropped in that her dad was the ABC...... |

There have been rumours for years tbh. And considering his childhood, upbringing, death of his son, schism in the Anglican Communion, this is probably well within his mind to cope with.

it does seem a bit strange unless quelle surprise its a bit of an attempt from someone within his clergy who doesn't like the way he's taking the church (which is all speculation as i don't know anything about that branch of religion)
there was an article on R4 a while ago where the number of children raised in a relationship with a different biological father was about 11% as i recall..
so its not a surprise that that is across most strata's of society..
he looks to be ok with it.. |

because there was a bit in old canon law that in theory said that a illigitimate child is not allowed to be an archbishop.... and it scared the palace of westminster enough that they had to go back and check (that clause was only taken out 30 years ago)
but you have to believe he asked his mother if there was any truth to this before he agreed to have the test.... and obviously if it wasn't true then the newspapers couldn't run it....
so in effect him announcing it gets in front of any newspaper scoop and he gets to own the story... |

Could he be the new messiah or is he just a naughty boy!
