Why can't we have a coup?
Jump to: Newest in thread
The British only do very short term protests when it's current and regularly in the newspapers or on social media.
It's like the protests about petrol prices years ago, now petrol is way higher than back then when the protests started but nobody does a thing.

"Is that one of those ice creams in the tall glass with cream and a wafer?"
No, no, you rascal, you. It is for defending your chuckies from the wily old fox. |

"Coups" are usually organised by the army. Ours is tiny. It's one of the reasons why the USA is always at war somewhere. The US government gets uneasy when they have the army at home... |

"I've got to mow the lawn then watch the Football. No time today perhaps tomorrow unless the suns out. "
Yeah but you don't want to start a coup in the rain really. Unless someone organises some umbrellas. |

We don't have a history of successful revolution unlike the French. They are always protesting about something. We can rarely even manage a protest.
Besides....not at the weekend.....I don't mind doing it in work time but not on my days off! |

We had one it started in 1642 ended with the execution of Charles 1 on 30 Jan 1649.
We didn't like the resulting republic so run by The Lord Protector Cromwell so when he died we asked Charles's son to come back and be Charles 2. |

Thanks for the history reminder. I must have blanked that bit out from my education. I did find Cromwell a bit boringly puritanical. Perhaps we needed some debauchery back in our lives so that's why we let royals have another go
A lesson for our revolution....more sex and fun things that are bad for you and less boring things that are good for you.
