interesting new law as French MPs finally approve divisive legislation that will criminalise customers rather than sex workers
do you think that kind of law would work here......

Not sure it would in France or here.
They payment could be offered for something else other than sex, then no laws have been broken.
Maybe the prostitutes in France will sell men a small gift and throw in some free sex... |

Maybe they could charge 200 euros for a game of scrabble but you only get the one French letter?

I find it sad how politicians keep passing prohibition laws to criminalise conduct because they don't approve of it rather than because it is wrong. The result always seems to be the same.
The USA banned alcohol. Result: Bootlegging and the rise to power of the mafia and an increase in violence in the USA as criminals took over the booze business.
The western world banned drugs. Result: International drug smuggling and the rise in violence as the criminal drugs cartels and gangs across the world took over the drugs trade. In this case leading to the destabilization of countries where production takes place.
Now it seems the answer to prostitution is more prohibition too. No wonder the criminal gangs have moved in in such a big way and the trade and trafficking in young girls for the sex trade is such a growing industry!
I wonder will our politicians ever wake up and learn from history or will they continue to be self-serving arrogant sods that believe that they will change history by repeating it?!!! |

Completely agree with this, making things like this illegal just forces it into the hands of criminals. Then we don't know where the funds they make are going, could well be to fund terrorism for all we know. |

Anothe absolutely useless law, so all an escort now has to say is that you are paying for her company and you are having ex because she likes you.
The customer just sates the same thing and that is not iligal.
Nothing in the law that says that 2 strangers cannot fuck!!! |

Contrary to what many assume or might expect, the decriminalisation of prostitution has been reported to lead to an increase in human trafficking, particularly in high-income countries. Quite simply, demand increases and thus there is greater profit in supplying. |

Well I happen to live in France and the general attitude here seems to be that the laws made are for Paris and the Island of France (thats the bit around Paris) and not for the rest of France, where they think in the burbs it will be business as usual |

Would those reports be written by the same people who say decriminalising drugs would just increase the problem? Or that we need to ban tobacco and alcohol? |

No no, we do know in fact that the money spent on drugs finds it's way to terrorists very well. The economy of Afghanistan is pretty much based on that principle.
So what does that say about people in this country that use addictive drugs anyway knowing they are indirectly funding terrorism? |

"So what does that say about people in this country that use addictive drugs anyway knowing they are indirectly funding terrorism? "
That world governments are so fixated on controlling their populations that they would rather force them into the hands of criminals than give them the freedom to choose how they use and what they put into their own bodies. |

No it means they are selfish cunts. There are very sensible good reasons to stop people using heroin and crack. |

Please explain but remember that the costs of treating addicts would be the same or less if drugs were not illegal. And that further if not prohibited or taxed at exorbitant rates the criminal trade would not exist therefore removing the income stream to terrorists and reducing prison costs while freeing up law enforcement assets. |

They would still be as addictive whether they are legal or not. They are too addictive, that's the fundamental problem with them. It's not like alcohol where most people can recreationally use it without getting addicted, most people that use crack or heroin get addicted. Once you are an addict then you aren't properly in control anymore and you do all sorts of nasty things, which is the definition of a cunt. |

I always roll my eyes when governments come up with an indirect law to deal with a problem because it's inevitably going to have unintended consequences.
So the problem isn't that people are draining their balls in a fanny for hire, the problem is that some people are being trafficked. So the government is basically saying that they aren't competent enough to deal with the actual problem of trafficking and are going to try and cut off demand for it. Heaven forbid they should actually tackle a problem at its source... |
