"Love this tune from Dire Straits....friend said she had read it was also a footie team's anthem! Which team...anyone know?"
The song is played at Newcastle United F.C. and Aberdeen F.C. home games as the football players run out onto the pitch, as well as at the end of games at other clubs such as Tranmere Rovers F.C

I might be being pedantic but I think it was by Mark knopfler as a solo work as opposed to dire straits. Great piece of music though, good film at the time too. |
