That video with her dressed as a schoolgirl makes me cry with despair.

But a different kind of despair, I suspect.

Here is one that is a tad of a paradox! The tune is "Sprightly" but the words are about someone who has died after a long relationship and the one left behind is lamenting. Take a listen on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYcSUaiUUnw

Can't see why "Comfortably Numb" is in the list! Not in any way morbid or even slow! Come on Jo babe, just sit there and omaging getting shagged in time with the music.. Put a whole new slant on it! lol

Really depends on my mood to be honest, sometimes i love the slushy romantic ballads but i find when im out in a karaoke bar EVERYONE tends to sing ballads and just depresses me, so i move on to another venue. I go out cos i wanna be in an upbeat party mood.

Also sometimes that Bonkers/Happy Hardcore dance techno shite just gets too much... again the same with heavy metal.

I dont find any music 'depressing' as such , even music or artists i dont particularly like .What i do find depressing is what is masquerading as music by people masquerading as 'bands' or artists created by the media as a cash cow for the machine .

Rainy Days and Mondays - The Carpenters

The River - Bruce Springsteen

Tonight's the Night - Neil Young

relentlessly downbeat and depressing lyrics describing empty lives and despair.

I like songs by female musicians/singers but I can rarely listen to a full album by any female artists in one session without it starting to eventually grate. Even great singers like Annie Lennox or Alison Moyet.

Going back to lyrics that annoy as much as I love Rod - You're in My Heart the line where he sings

"that in the begininning were hard to except" instead of accept...just a bugbear lol and |I wait for it every time I hear him sing - even live he still makes same error! mind you he still doesnt know the words to Maggie May!!!

All music can be deppressing!! for example if it's a happy happy song like the archies sugar sugar! it drives you into despair because it's far too happy!! i suppose it's the way we all look at it! music is so personal to us all in so many ways! it's the one thing that can make us sad, happy, motivate us, relaxes us, makes us think deeply, moves us, it conjures up so many emotions in us all! i think it's the greatest thing we have given the world!!...... now see what its done! its put me into deep thinking mode now!! i'm now gonna be deppressed until i next have a wank!!
