Maybe it's just me , but there does seem to be quite a few threads asking the good people on fab to sign up to this worthy cause and donate to that worthy cause .....

Now don't get me wrong , if that's what one wants to do then all power to you .

But why are people using fab as a platform to do this ?

Fab is a place we use to escape from the often grim reality of the real world , and I know we can all exercise freedom of choice by ignoring these threads , but should they be on here at all ?

What do you think ?

They should not be on here. I usually avoid the boring threads and I could this type too, but I would hate them to take the place over. Sign of the times and the internet I guess, but best to report them as being inappropriate perhaps?

Asking for money is against the rules, isn't it? Shouldn't matter if it's under the guise of charity or whatever.

I don't get how the links they post are allowed?

Reminds me of back when email was new and you'd get chain mail with petitions to sign every day.

I was rather hoping the hot guy would be attached. I'm told they need skilled operators because they tend to have a mind of their own.

Seriously though, I dont think there are that many, there was one yesterday which I didnt think was a real problem and then the one today that has gone.

If there are any that we miss though just report them and Admin will have a look.

Now if I was allowed to delete the ones begging for fabs Id be all over them like a rash

They don't bother me enough to report. I was just genuinely curious as to whether the links were allowed. Now I know

I do mention my charity in threads but I would never ever use it as a platform to ask for anything as I wouldn't feel right using the forum in such a way, of course if someone PM me and said 'how can I donate etc' I would probably tell them but I wouldn't openly ask for help.

And to be honest, as it's a children's charity I don't know how my boss would feel when I tell her how I got the donation.
