I did for when I took filters off.. Was just a quick way of sorting through which mail I would read.

Some people would put it.. But had clearly still not read profile though..

I have no final conclusion.. Other than I don't think it makes much difference either way

My secret code is within my forum posts. Usually subliminal. Getting it for me to respond is easy.

I never have. I think it's daft.

If I message someone with one on their profile I deliberately refuse to use it.

Preferences are fine, expecting people to respect one's preferences is fine but codewords are a bit too much hoop-jumping for me.
