Reread this post's title again. One more time. Yes, that's right – the government of the tiny African country of Malawi is set to legally prohibit flatulence, with those seen / smelt flouting the rules threatened with a criminal record, and, presumably, a smacked bottom.
Never heard of the place? Well, shame on you and your geography teacher, because as any schoolboy knows, it's the little landlocked country in southern Africa, with Zambia to the northwest, Tanzania to the northeast, and Mozambique on the east, south and west. Of course.
Boasting 15 million people as inhabitants, each one of them is set to have to follow this somewhat unenforceable rule of no farting in public. We predict the phrase "The dog did it!" to be used approximately 5,000 times more if the bill does pass this week.
The bill states, after all: "Any person who vitiates the atmosphere in any place so as to make it noxious to the public to the health of persons in general dwelling or carrying on business in the neighbourhood or passing along a public way shall be guilty of a misdemeanour."
This comes from Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika, who wants his people to be "responsible and disciplined." Oh, and the bill also contains rulings against "insulting the modesty of a woman, challenging to fight a duel, and... pretending to be a fortune teller." |

So What Happens when The next time the Queen or phillip drops "one" in public and some cameraman picks it up and has it sky news a minute later ???
Lets say they on the next royal visit or junket or holiday or official meeting - im still unsure what they actually do on each of them different kinda visits lol !!?? |
