Mothers are said to be concerned that if their children watch Rastamouse on CBBC they may end up speaking like Jamaican Yardies
Nonsense
If things like Pac-Man had affected me as a kid, I would have spent most of the 80's in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music...
Oh! .....Hang on a minute.....!!!

I can't criticise the possibility because a couple of weeks back I was with friends having a heated discussion and quoted both Homer Simpson and Eric Cartman in their voices to support my opinion. But then again I'm in love with Virgil Tracy. |

Rasta Mouse is no Makka Pakka but I do like his whimsical yardie twang.
Can't see this show having legs though it lacks the character depth and rich settings of such seminal classics as Teletubbies and In the Night Garden. |

Until this thread I'd never heard of Rastamouse. My daughter home from uni was tutting. She was reading the Guardian forums about Rastamouse. Told her I'd just heard about it. Apparently a lot of uni students love it!
Watched a couple on iPlayer: not Postman Pat or Fireman Sam but it could be up there with those clasics! |

"apprantly they asked the guy who does the regi regi sauce from dragons den to do the voice of rastamouse lol "
Feel so left out...there was a time I knew all the shows and songs too.
Kids now watch Tracey Beaker and some show about a tower and doing sneaky stuff in the dark....I almost joked to death when I realised what that last sentence sounded like.
Just asked and its apprently called Trapped.
They've never heard of rastamouse, must have a nosey and see |
