Looking for tips, I have in both my right knee and ankle. I can go months without any symptoms or it can be everyday with hardly being able to walk. Feels like large grit in my joint or like it's going to lock or giveaway. Makes me feel like an old man. so just looking for any tips, doc told me there is nothing they can or will do. The last few days it has been bad.

You might as well try all the nutritional aids - Omega 3, chondroitin, glucosamine etc. Best herbal anti-inflammatory is Boswellia Serrata, we use that in horses to avoid the long term side effects of NSAID's.

I have it in my hips and knees. I find massage and heat pads work with pain killers when I'm sore.

I suffer from psoriatic arthritis. I'm not too sure how closely they are related, but I do know it is quite debilitating sometimes I can hardly leave my flat for a few days. The tramadol I take for the pain just turns me into a zombie

Is a hoverboard an option?

I'm hoping medical science comes up with some kind of organic superlube for things like that.

A month ago I started getting sharp painful "jolts" in my left thigh and upper leg which have been diagnosed as symptoms of possible osteo-arthritis, but it's still not certain.

The general wisdom seems to lose some weight and to keep active and exercise, but walking can be painful after a while...

I'm seeing a physio-therapist who has recommended stretching exercises which do help when symptoms are bad, and I'm reluctant to use pain-killers, which, in any case, are not effective against the sporadic nerve "jolts"

Blondie has suffered with this for about 10 years. She went private and was put on methotrexate; it's primary use is as a cancer drug, but it has helped her immensely.

GPs don't like to give it as it requires monthly blood tests and side effects can be bad if not monitored properly. Used for all sorts of arthritis.

Has anyone tried vitamin D? Though I don't have osteo not only should everyone take it due to the amount of sunlight the UK gets, but it is for skin and bone, it can also beneficial toward pain.

I have it in both knees my right knee is grade 4 bone on bone and it needs a knee replacement! Have you had any surgery? I have had a few arthroscopic surgerys where they clean out the debris and shave the knee! But my right knee is just done for now so having to wait for a replacement. But as I'm so young they are trying to delay it as long as possible! so I just have to manage my pain as best i can! I have a tens machine which is good! Ice when swollen and heat for comfort, swimming helps loads and resting when you can! it's shit but it's all I can do! X

Someone at work recommended Boswellia can buy this on amazon 800mg was the one I was told about and certainly Tumeric paste is another worth a try.
