How can it be atheism, isn's Satan the deceiver who leads humans astray, in some religions Lucifer (bringer of light), the fallen angel, who displeased God and was caste down. So by worshipping a fallen angel, or a deceiver who leads humans astray (away from a god), by default you cannot be an atheist; i.e. you cannot worship a being that is the antithesis of good (or a fallen angel), without excepting there is good, in this context, religious belief in a god.

I know satanists, it's pretty much being your own God and taking control of your own actions.
No sacrifice
No blood rituals etc.
Actually makes more sense than praying to some diety made up long ago. Telling you what you can and can't do.....

It actually points out there is no such thing as devil worship within the church of satan.
People will practice "theistic satanism" which is devil worship, but it's not part of the church.

Satan and or lucifer as are seen as a concepts to a philosophy as written in the Satanic bible by Anton Levey. Satanists do not believe in or worship external deities. It is about being, looking out for ones self above all and promotes peace and well being. It is not he evil stigma that the rest of the world attaches to it. |

However bad they are, Satanists, or Devil-worshipers, or whoever, can't be as vindictive, spiteful and discriminatory as most of the dedicated Christians that I've had the misfortune to meet in life...

I live in Glastonbury. The town is overflowing with religions and sects and nutters of all shades.
In the grand sum of human history, it's my contention that Christians have done more damage than Satanists.

I get a bit a stick at work from time to time from the god botheres and the Muslims who merely take offense at my presence. I'm supposed to respect their beliefs while mine get trashed and swept aside. |

Not sure if it's what your after but a mate of mine at school was dyslexic, he did a school christmas project saying how much he loved satan.
These days the PC brigade would have called in social services and arrested the parents for devil worshipping |
