I'm wondering if any fellow fabbers share my interest in cycling? Going out for a ride together, having a chat about common interests could be a net result for all concerned.

Anyone?

That is fair enough but sometimes it is easier to overtake them when they are bunched up.

Exactly why riding two abreast is not only legal but advised by British Cycling, the CTC and the AA.

Far safer for riders in a group like that, easier for the motorist too as it is like passing another car, when cars & lorries pass a single cyclist they cut back in far too quickly hitting the cyclist, motorists fail to see cyclists and motor cyclists when driving from tee junctions claiming "i didn't see them coming!" Which makes me think yearly eye tests should be compulsory for motorists when insuring cars.

I'm in Peterborough for the Tour of Cambridge on June 5th. A flat ride although I hear the wind can be bad in spots

Just come back in from work , narrow country lane , a team of cyclists 3 and 4 abreast , I think the couple of cyclists who were well over my side of the road shit their pants and deservedly so

Same cycle club every time ,,,,,, they cause mayhem every weekend . Still won't be long till I put the hedgetrimmer back on the tractor

People I ride with ride in small packs and drop into single file when we hear cars. But as a cyclist and motorcyclist I've lost count of the number of time I've seen a driver on there phone, drinking coffee and generally not being in control of their vehicle; tractor, BMW and HGV drivers the worst. It's led to more than a couple of punches being delivered to the worst offenders who have nearly killed me

As much as you hate tractors I have to say we hate cyclists ,,,,, , always thought we were public enemy no1 on the road but it now seems we are a mere 2nd

My works vehicle is 2.95m wide and thoroughly road legal ufortunately oncoming cyclists seem to have their heads down and don't realise that 4 or even 3 abreast are not going to pass by safely

These are probably the same cyclists who drive as badly as they ride. I'm sure you also have motorists who are just as bad and never move over for you. We all have to share the same badly maintained and shitty roads so let's all make sure we do so safely.

You seem an aggressive and angry driver?

Go you think that you are really safe to be on the roads?

You will not find a quieter non aggressive man than me ,,,,, am I safe ,,,, been driving on the roads for 35 years now ,,, had 1 minor bump 30 years ago , no points on my licence , I'm a very professional driver who drives very large machinery on the roads for a living ,,,4 m wide and with police escort at times if not police then our own escort vehicle ,,always pull in at laybys to let traffic by ,,, I think you will struggle to find a more conscience driver than me , but I will tell you something for nothing ,,,, every sat and sun the local lanes are full of idiots , not all I must add but some of those who pull on a Lyra vest seem to leave their common sense behind them ,,,,, and that's a fact ,,,,, but for some reason because they are on just 2 wheels they are saintly and god like .

Town cycling I know nothing about and have no comment to make
