This is currently undergoing trials in America. The new injection is non hormonal, reversible and blocks fertile sperm for 12 months and has no apparent long term side effects . Providing all this is the case I think this would be great especially since female contraceptives are all hormonal and have various side effects from pro longed usuage (depending on your chosen method) such as weight management issues, longer/heavier periods and a reduction in bone density and vitamin D (that can cause extreme fatigue and a reduced sex drive) etc.
What do you all think? Is it a good idea? Would guys be willing to try it?

This is something men have been waiting for. They will finally be able to trust that they will not become fathers without their agreement. It's all very well to say that they have condoms but so do women but they have their pill. |

This is another great point there would be less men getting duped because she "forgot to take her pill" |

Hmmm but I don't like chemicals in me bod. So I am going to say no. And that's not me being a bloke. A man takes responsibility for his own protection. Hence condoms. I completely understand why some women do not use oral contraception or other methods. As strange as it is, for me, condoms are the most natural form of protection/birth control as they don't mess about with anyone's chemistry/biology. |

I understand that it's another good reason why I asked the question, I'm currently on the implant and I hate the idea of having it in my arm as its a foreign body. I have notice since having it fitted my appetite has increased, I'm still managing to loose weight on it but I'm doing it slower than I was so I could easily understand how the pounds would pile on if not eating healthily enough, be also been put on repeat prescription for vitamin D tablets as its effected my levels |

"I think most men would be willing, until they find out where the injection site is
Yes the injection location could be an issue that was why I posed the question. "
It would be something I'd consider but only if I was in a relationship. My previous partner had issues with both the combined and mini pill, so if one swift injection could prevent that, then I'd be all for it - whoever carried out the injection would seriously need to be careful though ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

"I would definitely have the jabs (provided thy were not into my cock or balls!). "
Bad news for you
Vasalgel is a polymer hydrogel that is injected into the vas deferens (the tube sperm swim through) and blocks sperm. The quick procedure is similar to No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV), except the doctor injects the vas deferens with gel, instead of cutting it. |

Try co-enzyme q10. It helps the body use the vitamins you put into it (your body naturally produces this enzyme so it's not "foreign") |

I thought that may be the typical response of many men |
