Booked a ticket to go to a gig, none of my friends really share my music taste, so I'm going on my own.

I've just been called weird for going on my one, which I think is rather unfair, I'm weird for many reasons but I don't think this is one.

Is it weird?

Fair play to you for not letting your friends different music tastes stop you going to a gig!

Not at all, I've gone to concerts, plays etc on my own, sometimes it's good to just get lost in your own world of enjoyment

No! Not weird at all! Apart from anything else when you're at a gig no-one gives a shit. I bought a ticket to see Deacon Blue last year on my own. I was ill on the day so didn't go but had I not been ill I was there on my own singing word for word!!

Go and enjoy!!

"It is uncommon but not weird. "

It's actually a lot more common than people realise, lots of people, male and female do it

I've been to gigs on my own before, if I like them I don't care what anyone else things and you shouldn't either

Good to know, thanks.

I didn't think it was weird, I've done it before, I go on my own so I don't have to drag anyone else along with me who won't enjoy it. Plus I can enjoy it fully myself.

It just threw me off a little to be called weird for that.

Of course it's not weird. I go to concerts on my own all the time.

I always meet great people and have made some lovely friends.

Have fun.

Not at all. I go and do stuff alone all the time. Cinemas, gigs, meal. Would happily go on holiday or to a festival alone. Probably have a better time as you end up chatting to randoms and joining other groups.

Not strange at all. I've done it for years. Met a great number of wonderful people this way - probably wouldn't have met them at all if I had been with someone else.

I do this all the time. Moobs ain't really bothered about the music I like and also we struggle for babysitting so I just go alone. It's only youngsters who think it's weird lol. I would rather go alone than miss out xx

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've been to several gigs on my own. My taste in music is considered odd by most people I know.

I do quite a few things on my own because no one I know likes what I do, certainly not music. They'd rather be in the pub than at a poetry event or acoustic gig

Nothing weird about that, Ive attended alot of gigs on my own, even at Glastonbury I tend to separate from the rest of my group of mates as they would usually goto the main stages where as I like to discover new bands on the smaller stages and tents.

Nothing weird about it at all! All of my mum friends, including me go to the cinema, gigs, shows etc. by ourselves. Everyone isn't available all the time, especially with offspring. Don't make the few who don't have the confidence to do anything alone, make you feel less of a "normal" person for doing so.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

Definitely not weird. Only insecure people feel the need to hang with a crowd all the time. I've been to gigs on my own, been to restaurants on my own, even been on holiday on my own. I usually get chatting with interesting people who I would otherwise not have met. Had a great shag after striking up a conversation at a gig

Everything's weird to idiots.

Hope you have a great time at the gig.
